I'm wanting to buy/modify/build an ultralight 7-08 with a threaded 18" barrel. I'll be hanging a thunderbeast ultra 7 can on it. I'd really like a kimber Adirondack, but they're too rare and expensive. Kicking around buying a savage lightweight storm, chopping 2", and putting a MPI stock on it...
I'm trying to balance out a bolt gun after putting a can on it. I've read about mixing lead shot with marine-tex and putting it inside the stock. What's the best way to go about this? Just take the recoil pad off and start globbing it in there? It's a carbon fiber kimber stock.
This is an oddball question. But does anyone have any experience with suppressing short barreled semi auto shotguns? I'm wanting to get one of the new JK 195 shotgun cans. Gas operated or inertia? Any suggestions on a host? Thanks
I've never build a bolt gun, plenty of ARs though. I was wanting to put together a 7 PRC that weighs about 7 pounds, maybe a shade under. I was think an origin action and a proof barrel. Can't really decide between 22" and 24". Any suggestions on stocks? What about bottom metal, is there a way...
So there's lots of options for ways to suppress a 5.7. My question is, what can does the best at suppressing that round, yet is still compact and lightweight? The yhm turbo k with a titanium direct thread seems like it would be a good fit. I tried to find some db testing with that combo, so I...
I'm trying to decide on my next can, and would like to hear what you guys think. I'm building an ultralight AR10, 16" 308. I'm wanting a 308 can that is as light and short as possible, but still does a decent job at suppressing. I don't think I want a full titanium one, I'd rather not have to...
Weatherby recommends an upward pressure point on their lighter (#2 and smaller) barrels, and chooses not to free float them at the factory. I've read that this is just a way to get around not properly bedding the action to the stock. What's the truth in this? I've always known to be true...
Does anyone know of a good gunsmith within about 30 minutes of Temple, Tx? I don't need any major work. Only a recrown, bead blasting, cerakote, and bed a new stock. I also have another barrel that needs a flash hider pinned.
I'm sending a barreled action in to be cerakoted, and was thinking about having it recrowned while it was in. This way, I won't have to re coat it. But can it hurt to have it done? The rifle is still pretty new, so I really haven't done any load fine tuning. But I think it'll be a 1ish moa gun.
I'm looking to put together a night vision setup for after dark pig poppin. The rifle will most likely be a suppressed ar in 300 blk. Can you gurus give me some suggestions on what I should consider?
