    Anyone measured throat erosion ?

Re: Anyone measured throat erosion ? Not the caliber you want, but some good information anyway, I'm keeping close track of my 338lm erosion (savage 110ba), and have measured 0.002-0.003" per 100 rnds. The question I have, is how much erosion is typically seen before accuracy starts to wane...

i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets

Re: i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets PGS, what load range of retumbo do you use for the 300's? I can't find a manual that has any info on that combo, and I'd prefer not to start blind. For instance, do you have a comparison of retumbo with 300smk vs retumbo with 300scenar?

i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets

Re: i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets Fireguyty, yeah, I just found powder valley and just bought a ton of powder and bullets from them, the $0.20 I referred to was before I found them, at midway they were $80/100 vs $30ish/50 for the SMK IIRC. Now that I found powder valley, no...

i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets

Re: i never here anything about 338 laupa bullets I have a bunch that I'm developing loads with. I think the reason you don't hear as much is the 300SMK is. REALLY good, and while the scenar may/may not be better, a difference of $0.20 or more a bullet can turn people off. I'll let you know...

    Need help with seating depth!!!

Re: Need help with seating depth!!! I noticed similar variations, my solution (maybe I'm just OCD) waste always measure to Ogive, I use a micrometer seater so I seat like 0.005 long, then measure with a comparator, adjust, then final seat. It's an extra step, but doesn't add substantial time...
