What rifle case are you using

Re: What rifle case are you using Pelican for travel. Plastic grocery bag for range visits. J/k. I use scope and crown covers only for trips to the range.

    Realistic Expectations?

Re: Realistic Expectations? Paragraphs, yes, please. All of the advice so far is correct in my experience. Next time you're out at the range, and someone like the police snipers or any skilled shooter shows up, politely and between iterations, ask them if they would mind watching you throw...

    Pistol Safes

Re: Pistol Safes I'm really liking that Titan. Only safe I've seen yet that basically hands you your pistol. lol. Alas, three bills is a bit more than I'm looking to pay right now. I will definitely keep that one in mind for if/when I decide the put something in my truck.

    custom gear fabric question

Re: custom gear fabric question Exact same problems I had. What I would have given to have a better machine at the time. And now that you mention it, I think it was #69 thread I was using. I'm gonna have to check out diytactical.com. Sounds interesting.

    Pistol Safes

Re: Pistol Safes Crowbar or no, a burglar would be pretty disappointed to find himself with an empty metal box or on the business end of its contents. When I'm outta the house, the guns with me anyhow. I just wanna keep kids and other benign passerby out of it. I'm still looking, but the...

    Pistol Safes

I'm in the market for an affordable pistol safe to put on the bedside table. Looking at the finger combos, and biometrics for quick access. I know you guys have opinions and experience. Let me hear about it. Thanks.

    Sling for my AR

Re: Sling for my AR I second the Magpul ms2 w/ ASAP plate. Used mine for a yr in the sandbox. The set-up is bomb-proof, easy to adjust size, and single to two point changes take seconds, even on the go. Haven't seen a better setup yet.

Harris Bipod: Smooth vs. Notched Legs

Re: Harris Bipod: Smooth vs. Notched Legs Great post, Triad. I knew there was a reason I loved the swiveling notched so much. Thanks for the good info.

    custom gear fabric question

Re: custom gear fabric question You gonna sew all that yourself? If so, make sure you're using an commercial grade machine. I've sewn a couple of ghillies using 1000D Multicam for front reinforcement paneling on a home-grade machine, and it was a major bi#$h. The needles would break, and...

Accuracy International AX & AX AICS Photos

Re: Accuracy International AX & AX AICS Photos Updates? Really looking forward to this chassis. I read somewhere that the AICS AX will be available by the end of this month and plan to wait on a list for about six months. Any truth to this? Need to get this action into something.....

Gunsmithing Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS

Re: Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS Thanks for all the helpful info guys. Does anyone know the actual depth of the recoil lug recess? Btw, I may not be too active in this posting as my time on the net is limited presently. I am checking and reading as I can.

Gunsmithing Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS

Re: Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS HateCA, Got a real name? I'm deployed right now, but I'm going to talk all of this over with my smith when I get back in a couple of weeks. Barring major issues or release of the AX chassis, I'll forge ahead with the AICS and post issues/results/pics to this...

Gunsmithing Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS

Re: Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS Steve, Did Jonathan give you any idea of when the AX chassis is going to be available? I'm guessing that you're waiting for it as well? That was my original choice, but it's getting close to crunch time on my build and still no AX release. That's why I'm...

Gunsmithing Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS

Re: Oversized Recoil Lug in AICS Awesome. Thanks for the info HateCA. The lug I'm running is 1.83" tall, .250" thick, w/ a 1.077" bore for the larger Manson threads. I also picked up some good knowledge from the thread where you helped out boredengineer with his 5R/AICS 2.0 build. Being...
