For casual users like us.....differences are probably negligible. I'm wondering how the optics stand up to constant use and how well the design fares against the elements. For the last generation class of thermals, INSIGHT CNVD etc.... what was FLIR's horse in the race I would love to know.
In my humble opinion Apples and Oranges fruit but yet not quite the same. MTM cannot compare to the LWTS different weight class and different year. How can a 2008 designed optic compare to say what? a 2013 designed optic. Try comparing the LWTS to say a PAS 13B I bet they can go head to...
I have used both and I will say that I like the PVS 26 Knights slightly better. That extra weight is the well made construction and reliability of Knights built NV or thermal. Not to say that the CNVD-LR is bad. Functionality wise it has its advantages. Cost wise....CNVD-LR cheaper...
If you just wanted to mount it, any pvs 14 style mount with the bottom screw will work. There are some mounts out there that can be adjusted. However I would not recommend this type of optic to be mounted like PVS 22 etc. Simply does not have that capability.
The MTM can withstand a moderate amount of recoil. Just like a sedan can effectively drive somewhat offroad. It was not designed to do that. WTM is with additional buffers built around the sensitive electronics. Just as the Tans have better recoil protection than the regular Black (2nd hand...

Re: Controlling the Christmas shopping bully I would not put myself in that situation. However if it were to happen to me...I would show restraint. If there were obvious escalation I would yell with a stern voice and warn the guy not to make another move. Comes within 20 feet of me still. I...
Re: Who has had enough of this Zombie Crap? If the end result is people being more prepared and less judging of those that are being prepared...I'll say zombie on.
Re: Are electric vehicles better than gas vehicles? WoW...something is effected whatever we use. If you are talking cheap for USA then Natural gas is the way to go. We have humungous reserves of the stuff!
