Steyr SSG 69... Provenance? Information? Advice?

I have a very early Steyr Grand Rapids, Minn. import, pre Gun South SSG-P1, green stock, Khales ZF-69 6X scope in Q.D. rings. single trigger. Mine has been expertly tuned by Derrick Martin, Accuracy Speaks in Mesa Az. and it is utterly dependable, winter or summer. Had him install a stud on...

Dillon 550B Owner Here - New to rifle reloading Questions.

I only use my Dillon 550B to load rifle that are first fl sized, prepped, trimmed to length or new cases. Using a Dillon to fl size rifle cartridges flexes the cartridge plate in both directions that results in COAL variations on seater in my humble opinion.

I am looking for feedback on a Gracey Trimmer/reamer ?

The Gracey is less expensive, can preform a variety of tasks, and if you buy a Giraud trimmer blade and replace the the Gracey 2 piece one very easy to set up and each blade provides 3 cutting surfaces before replacement. Typically you should never buy another. I have 2 Graceys one in .223 and...

Is there really THAT much difference in ogive??

I have made the Camp Perry pilgrimage many times and when I lived in Az. I would stop @ Sierra on the way back and frequently bought 5 gallon buckets of blems/2nds that were used by the junior shooters to gain experience . These bullets were never as consistent as the 1st Tier and we knew...

    Receivers only ?

I saw a ad the other day that implied Remington was now selling receivers only. Can one buy a Winchester receiver by it's self ? I have always wanted a controlled round 30.06 Winchester/ M40A1 type rifle, without buying a new rifle and throwing most of it in a parts bin.

    Spotter: Angled vs Straight

Angled, standing, setting or prone a scope is for watching mirage and determining wind speed and direction. Then making a shot before conditions change, you can't do that with a straight as you have to change position to engage.

    Let's talk about precision reloading

Lots of good input here, every shooter needs to critique his load process, they vary by type of action, s/a or bolt, mag length limit on OAL, you can just make every round like a bench rest cartridge, but even that won't work in everything. You have to balance the the time and money with the...

    Dillon 550-650 upgrades

These is the feedback I was looking for. I tumble, deprime on rockchucker, double case resize on another press, uniform pockets, trim on Giraud that also chamfers inside and slight bevel outside, been priming w/ bench mount RCBS tool, then in load block to Harrels for powder, then to a Redding 7...

    What equipment to buy?

I would get a Hornady Lock & Load press or equivalent from Lee as you can set up one time for each die, pop in and out for next stage or calibre saves a lot of headache when starting off.

LC64 Match Brass OK For Bolt Gun (308)?

Correct, when it no holds tension, and I double size all of my LC brass the first time I reload them. Size as normal and let it set in die for a 5 count, spin case 180 degrees and size again, I also use scientific laboratory foam Q tips with a trace of Sinclair case lube on inside of case necks...

LC64 Match Brass OK For Bolt Gun (308)?

To quantify my response if you fire those same cases in the same bolt gun, without undue pressures they should last a long time. You should only need to neck size until the brass becomes work hardened, than try full length resizing again. All the while this is going on you will check for length...
