    Collet or Kinetic puller?

I had trouble getting lighter bullets out (read: 50gr .223) with the kinetic. I bought a collet puller & use it now. I wish the Hornady cam lock had been out when I was shopping, seems like it would be faster than the RCBS screw down system I have.

Range Report Anyone have fps data on Federal Gold Metal .308 168g out of a 20" 1/10 barrel?

In my box stock Savage 10 PC, 20" 1/10 barrel, I'm getting 2600-2610. But, you've got a different rifle. :)

    Knaack Job Box Storage ?

Locked is fine, as long as the storage container has weak joints that will fail without causing an explosion. You could make a simple wooden box with glued joints that would be relatively secure (keeping the honest people honest) with a shackel lock on it that would work just dandy. Good luck!

    Knaack Job Box Storage ?

Can you say grenade? Knaack is right. Fire code specifies suitable powder storage, but I'm on my phone so can't give a reference. I use a cooler with a non locking lid. Gives some temp stability, and should pop right open if something bad happens.

    Rifle Scopes Mrad IS Meteric

My dog will certainly tell you that my yard is different than my neighbor's. However, I'm pretty sure that the electric and water companies are metric... Sorry. After shooting with some folks this weekend, I'm ready to switch to Mil/Mil FFP. Had trouble calculating the calls into my minute...

    need rifle rated Dueling Tree

MGM has some with 4 or 6 plates, and a .22 version if you need that. MGM is a huge shooting sports supporter, and you won't find any better steel - google them for proof. http://mgmtargets.com/tstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=47 I am not affiliated with...

How many use CCI 450 mag primers w/ .223 varget?

Re: How many use CCI 450 mag primers w/ .223 varget? I did some side by side testing with CCI std and mag primers using varget & blc2 with 55gr softpoints. The mags actually shot a few fps slower, no pressure signs on anything. I didn't notice any accuracy difference, but the way I shoot...

    WST for 9mm ??

Re: WST for 9mm ?? Patience, I'm sure somebody that knows what they're talking about will be along in a while... That being said, I think WST might be too fast for 9mm. I use WS<span style="font-weight: bold">F</span> in 9 & 40, and it works pretty well for me, WST is a faster powder than...

    .40 S&W

Re: .40 S&W I use WSF with a 155gr plated bullet. It's a little dirty, but I think that's cuz I load it light - around 900fps, and it would work better with heavier bullets from what I read. Anyway, I've got a lot of it & WSF meters nice, so I'm happy. I use it in 9mm also. Lots of...

Sidearms & Scatterguns wife self defense weapon...

Re: wife self defense weapon... I've got a Kahr CW9. I like it a lot, never had any issues with it (500+ rounds downrange, lots of different ammo). No external safties, just point & click. It's got a longer double actionish trigger pull, but it's very smooth. I liked it better than the PM...

    Seating .223 bullets for AR15

Re: Seating .223 bullets for AR15 One thing that caught my eye, and no one has mentioned it - your 1:7 twist may be too fast for the Hdy SXSP bullets. They have a very thin jacket & can come apart if spun too fast. I've got a 1:9 twist and opted for the standard Hdy SP bullets for this...

    Range Report 7.62x39 in a .308

Re: 7.62x39 in a .308 7.62x39 in a 308 sounds like the time somebody with an AR15 grabbed one of my .222 rem rounds. Since it headspaces on the shoulder, it ran too far forward for a) the firing pin to hit it and b) the extractor to grab it and pull it out. I can't remember if he had to...

    I need a range finder

Re: I need a range finder I've got a Bushnell Elite 1500 I bought used & haven't been able to range much past 400 yds (my red truck in bright daylight). Not sure if this is typical, or I've got a bum one, or a bad battery. Anyhoo, I just end up using my GPS. As long as you can set a...

    Am I forgetting anything

Re: Am I forgetting anything Speaking of not needing it 'till you need it... How 'bout a stuck case remover (or a 1/4" bolt, 1/4" tap & a socket...) When you stick a case in your die, nothing else will do. I don't have a trickler (yet) but it's on my list (maybe that snazzy omega one -...
