I get 2800 FPS with 48.0gr of 2000MR, shooting 185 Berger OTM's out of a 24" barrel. No pressure signs. Do watch out as temperatures rise. I am good at 80F but when I shoot a lot over this temp I back off by 0.5gr.

I would go with a smaller pack. You'll need to carry enough ammo for 3 stages (60 rounds?) then you'll have time to get back to your vehical and replenish, Binoculars, LRF, small tool kit, shooting stix, pistol ammo when required for a stage, shooting bag. If anyone can think of anything else...

I agree with the 2000MR. I too am shooting a 308, pushing Berger 185 OTM at 2800fps out of a 24" barrel. I really like this powder.

Has any one tried to use 2 cell phones, one at the shooters location and the other mounted on a tripod with camera lens aiming at the target and connecting both thru Skype? I think this would be a great way to look at target at extreme distances. I would try this but I don't get good cell...

I have been using Alliant Power Pro 2000-MR. I really like this powder. I have tried the powders listed by other and they are good, I just like this one better. I get a little more velocity, its easy to meter and is a little easier to find. I am shooting Lapua brass, Berger 185 VLD's at 2800 fps...

I got one from amazon for $130 shipped. Couldn't be happier. Why pay more. Its easy to plug in wind, direction and density altitude to your ballistics program.

I will note that I am about 1/8" short of magazine length when seating 168 SMK's to the rifling. I have loaded Berger 185gr VLD's lightly jammed in the rifling and they too are about 1/8" short of max. length for the magazine.

You might think about a 5 gall bucket with one of those bucket tool holders that fit inside and have pockets on the outside.
