Photos A good day at the range....

I think we found out that best of the west shit isn't bullet proof. Two shots with a 190smk @ 3050fps rendered two holes at 250. Ray said I couldn't shoot his target anymore. I moved my target on out to 1050yds and adjusted. I don't usually post 1000yd targets, but these were exceptionial to...

    What the hell?!

Re: What the hell?! Its all just experimental. If you'll look up the road to the fat Mac .50 you'll understand.

    What the hell?!

Re: What the hell?! Oh I've moved on. I pretty much forgot about it after the guy sent me a reply apology. The only reason I brought it up over here is to bounce it off someone else. Its all good now. I never try putting people in there place, but something about the guy Just rubbed me wrong...

    What the hell?!

I recently posted on another forum about some experimental stuff im working on and was told repeatedly by the moderator that what I was doin was silly and dangerous. Im an engineer and happen to know my way around lathes, precision machinery, and so on. My best friend is a 20 year gunsmith and...

    1760 with a 300wsm

Re: 1760 with a 300wsm OK im back. Im also hooked on 208s. LOL. I just put a 20 minute base back on and used a millett 6-25x56. It was clearer than the SS. I was able to hit a 2x2' steel plate 9 times total out of 20 shots. Have u guys ever been able to watch ur trace through the heat waves...

    Just call me a goober....

I had been shooting a load in my 300wsm that as far as I was concerned was the shit. I totally forgot to reset my resizing die to what it needed to be so my next batch of reloads were a little hard to close the bolt on. I noticed the flaw about ten shots in. Thankfully I caught it and took...

Photos These are a few of my favorite things.....

Here's my Savage 12 300wsm in a B&C Medalist, Millett 6.5-25x56 LRS-1, Millett 35mm low rings, EGW 20moa base, and my little bipod. The next two picks are my personal trophies. The one on the left was 11 1/2 and the right was 10 3/4. Im super psyched that the damn heat wave is over with...

    1760 with a 300wsm

Re: 1760 with a 300wsm GardDog: Can't you just change out the base? I used a 30minute base to get out that far. That's what I had to use to make a 16 power ss get out there. How fast could you run ur 220's? I had a reamer built for a 3.14" 300wsm that was throated for 240's. The problem I...

    1760 with a 300wsm

Re: 1760 with a 300wsm Sorry I took so long to respond. I had luck with both the 190s and the 208s. I had to put on a 30moa base to get the elevation. For me right now, groups at 1760 aren't measured in inches, they're measured in feet!!! LOL. We built a target that was two 4x8' pieces of...

Any Savage Shooters that are interested....

Re: Any Savage Shooters that are interested.... Varget and r15 perform very similarly and have a wide range of temperature tolerance. They are considered by many to be the ultimate 308 win powders. But to each his own.

Re: Any Savage Shooters that are interested.... So it likes a jump? Awesome! Im still trying to find the perfect load for everything. I just put a bell n Carlson on mine. Gonna do some serious shooting tomorrow.

Photos Gotta love days like these....

Re: Gotta love days like these.... It should've been better but I was in a hurry. This Oklahoma heat is ridiculous. I was just tickled pink that the cheap bore sight I used actually held true to 100 yards. If I would've done my part it would've been different.

Re: Any Savage Shooters that are interested.... Oh I understand. The ones I was talking about are the touching holes. If I had done my part they would've been one hole. LOL.

Any Savage Shooters that are interested....

I just got back from shooting a pretty good group with two of my rifles and wanted to pass on the load info if anyone wants it. The first is for a Savage 10fp .308 win. 24" 44gr. r-15 168gr smk coal 2.809 I managed about 1/4moa at 100. Couldve been better if I didn't rush it. Next is for...
