Re: Accurize Savage .308 10FPSR? Thank you guys. The 150s will shoot sub moa at a 100 at times. Best I have shot is the M852. Not a rifle handloader but I guess I need to be. Loaded pistol ammo for IDPA years ago. I will look into some reloading gear. Any recommendations?
I have mine in a B&C stock, action bedded. Leupold Mk4 LR/T 4.5 x 14. Best I can do at 600 is about an 8" group with M118LR and a maybe 6"+ with American eagle 150s. I shoot it with my AAC can on it but it is about the same with or without(group size.) This may be average for this production...
Re: Savage Model 10 FPSR .308 best grain for 10" twist Tried several different loads today. It was COLD! So much so the mirage was terrible as it was sunny I guess. I tried two different 150 grain loads. American eagle in 150 gr bat tail FMJ was the best being inside an inch and...
Re: Savage Model 10 FPSR .308 best grain for 10" twist The M118 is a 175 SMK isnt it? It shoots them fine sometimes but never consistantly. Thanks guys.
Re: Bedding Savage Model 10 in B&C A2 medalist Well the jury is still out on the improvement. I shot the rest of my M852 which it likes best. Not any worse but not the bug holes I expected. Had some odd fliers. Shot the rest of my Federal 165 gr game kings. Not any better with them either...
Re: Bedding Savage Model 10 in B&C A2 medalist All went great. Shooting it tomorrow. Bedded over the spring tab. Magazine doesnt seem to "lock in" but stays in the bottom of the mag well.
Bedded my Model 10 FPSR and all went well. Waiting till tomorrow to shoot it. (2.5 days). It was a 1 MOA gun and sometimes 1/2 MOA with M852. What is the greatest improvement you have experienced or heard of?

Re: Bedding Savage Model 10 in B&C A2 medalist I'm going to put some clay on the rear block and put the action in to see what is making contact. The stainless piece does hold the magazine box in.
Re: Bedding Savage Model 10 in B&C A2 medalist Everything I have read says that Savages like the tang floated. I was wondering if I should relieve the bedding blocks on either side to allow more glass under the reciever there?
I have a question about the small piece of stainless steel that is directly behind the magazine. The action rides directly onto this piece when assembled. There are wear marks on the reciever from it. Is it ok to glass over this as it will become permanent. I plan only to bed back from the...
Re: Gunsmith in Tulsa for bedding? "Tang"? You mean the part of the reciever right behind the safety? Thanks for the link. What does a good bedding job cost?
I would like to bed the action on my Savage. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in or around Tulsa Oklahoma? How hard is it to glass bed an action? I have watched a few vids on youtube. Doesnt seem too hard but I want it done right of course.
