Re: Horus reticles
I wish I could spend the coin on an NF or S&B but my new job only pays a 1/3rd of what I was making so my budget for my project has been halved.
I don't see any Hours reticles offered from Leupold's custom shop, Did I overlook it on Leupold's site?
I recently was introduced to the H59 and liked how easy it was to use after a few hours and am thinking this is the way to go for my ELR build. Whats out there that has an Horus that wont break the bank[$1500ish], I came across the HDMR but with the CS I've received from Bushnell in the past I...
Re: Any reason I shouldn't go 7-08
The .284 will come later down the road when I can find a long action, I wanted a .284 but decided its better off in a long action where I can make full use of its potential.
I've been down the 6mm road before and it didn't really suit my needs all that well.
Re: Found this local in Spokane Washington for sale
I better make the 6 hour drive out there and pick that up, It's a steal and I'd hate to miss out on such a great deal.

I'm going to order a barrel for my Stevens 200 project soon and i'm pretty sure 7-08 fits the ticket.
Are there any other calibers that offer similar barrel life and performance I should consider? I shoot a lot{10k +} in a year so barrel life is important to me.
Re: Boyds stock ?
I put one on my FV-SR, I like it because it has a fullsize feel to it and rides bags pretty well, Plus it handles extremely well offhand with the shape of the forend and palm swell.
Re: rimfire gunsmiths
What rifles are you wanting to get done? for the most part rimfires are very picky about ammo not so much the style of chamber or crown unless it's a semi auto, Then the only thing the matters is the style of chamber you use in it.
Re: Mil dot scope for .22LR
I like the Weaver 3-10x40 it's mil/mil and is on sale for 300$ at midway right now.

Re: Which rimfire to practice fundamentals
I'd stick with the CZ or Savage over the Marlins, Marlin has some bad QC issues right now and I have a hard time trusting them.
From Savage I would take a look at the MKII FV-SR,TR or TRR-SR, The FV-SR is a decent gun it just needs a stock upgrade...
Re: Do I have to bed my scope base?
After seeing how bad some of the Remington rear receivers are I would do it just for insurance, Iv'e seen some that need as much as 1/8'' of JB weld to bed the base.
Would you really wan't to force the base to meet up with it and cause a misalignment...
