I love 1911s, however they are not the best for carry purposes. They are maintenance intensive when shot a lot, and are known as the "king of the feedway stoppage" Not to mention a much higher buy in price for one that will run. Lower capacity, more weight.

Basic training privates take rack M4s (14.5in barrels) out to 300m, with irons. High power shooters take tuned AR15s out to 600yds with no support other then sling, also with irons. Shoot, and upgrade when you can.

The only issue with interoperability with the KAC and DD is the bolt. Other then that, use parts for the specific goal you're going for. Same manual of arms, not hard to adapt.

M&P - Smith & Wesson
