I had the same experience with the Wranglers. Slicker than owl shit and it gets worse as they age and the rubber gets harder. I went with Michelin LTX's and was very happy with them. From the above posts, it sounds like the best choice may be "anything but Wranglers"
Thank you for all the information. I appreciate it. I already have a good supply of 30 rnd AR magazines, mostly Lancer and P-mag. I'll check the born-on dates of them. It looks like a 4 hour course is needed prior to applying for a carry permit. I'll set that up as soon as I get settled...
Thanks. I knew the state was swinging hard to the left. I'll only be there for 5-6 years before retiring and will be moving on to Utah or Idaho at that point. So, I assume there isn't any grandfathering of the 30 rnd mags I already own. Is it illegal to possess them in the state, or just...
So I've accepted a job with the VA in Pueblo and will be moving out there in early April. Can anyone from Colorado tell me what I might need to know before moving there. Of course, I have a selection of Evil Black Rifles along with 30 rnd mags to feed them, plus a few NFA items that I have the...
I usually load the Hornady 55gn FMJBT when I need bulk ammo. You can usually find them for about $.08 a piece. In fact, Midsouth has them for less than that right now.
What 918V said. Last month I used the Hornady gauge to measure CBTO on on 12 samples OF 7 different .224 bullets in my 224 Valkyrie X-caliber barrel. The 80gn ELD-m were the worst by far. Here's what I got: Avg CBTO SD Hornady 73 eld-M...
Yep, What they said above. I guarantee you if you buy a single stage press, you'll never regret that purchase. I use a Redding turret press and a Dillon 550, but I also have a 30 year old Lee classic single stage on my bench and it gets used constantly. This week I used it to decap my brass...
Your methodology is sound but, personally, I think 0ne thousands is not enough. I know several people who promote that, but a lot of others suggest that the brass will spring back a thousands, so to go 2-3 thousands smaller on your bushing. I just got done neck turning 200 pieces of Peterson...
Thank you for the replies. The dies are RCBS. I tap the cartridges with a pen to settle the powder before seating. I also let the rounds sit for a few minutes after seating and recheck the OAL before I put a light crimp on them with a Lee factory crimp die. I guess as long as my SD's stay...
I'm still trying to find a consistent, accurate load for my 224 Valkyrie. I've gone through 6 bullets ad 6 powders with questionable results. One of the loads that shows some promise is the Nosler 85 RDF over 27.4gn of H4350. Since Hodgdon doesn't list a load for 85gn bullets, I picked a max...
Mine arrived today and I dialed in a perfect fit in a matter of minutes. Question for those of you that have an Element: how are you mounting a quick release, flush cup style of sling mount on the forend?
8208 has been my go to powder for 175 & 178's. My load in the same gun is 41.2g in Lapua brass seated 2.125 to the ogive. I just sampled my latest batch and got 2662fps average over 10 rounds.
The rumors were of a fire at the plant that produces Clays. Apparently it is just a rumor. http://www.trapshooters.com/threads/clays-powder-plant-explosion.189040/
I had the same issue with my 12lrp 6.5. Sent it back to savage. They "polished the chamber" and got it back to me in about 3 weeks. It no longer scratched up the brass and the 140's no longer jammed into the lands, but it still doesn't group worth a damn. Factory 140 Amax shoots about 1.25 moa...
