    How far out do you zero?

    On my AR using 55 grain bullets, a 50 yard zero is also a ~225 yard zero. It's also no more than 2" off either way all the way out past 250 yards. Quite handy. I use this setup with an EOTech. I don't have anything using a proper scope set up that way.

    I realize this conversation is long over, but 420 FEET of drop at 1000 yards would be pretty incredible. Basically impossible to aim that.

    Measuring wheel would be my choice. If you only need it once, you can "rent" it from Lowe's or similar. Don't remove the tags, keep it in perfect condition, and return it when you are done.

    I'll be no help with the bag, but have you considered making the feet of your bipod bigger? I've read several people reference using a frisbee to make the bipod move easily for a second target, and I think the same could be used to keep the rifle above the snow.

    Most of the videos could just as well be podcasts. When they are playing, I'm rarely actually watching. I'm a newbie to long range shooting, so don't count my opinion for much, but I love his videos.

    See, that's the problem he just discovered: a mil is not necessarily a mil. There are apparently at least 4 different measurements for what mil is depending on which system is in use. (I didn't know about any of this until reading this thread.) Had the OP never bothered to look at the math...

    I would sell either the .308 or the .300 Win Mag... probably the .308. There isn't anything the .308 does that you can't do with one of the other guns.

    Used rifle in a new Hyundai... that'd get pretty close to $17k. He missed his opportunity back when the panic buyers were going crazy and paying $2k for ARs with polymer lowers.
