I have a sporterized Mauser Gew. 98 I picked up used a while back. It's been rebarreled/rechambered in 7mm Mauser, has the bent bolt handle, and has been full-length bedded (action and entire barrel channel).

It still has the original military trigger. It's crisp, but it's about 5 lbs. 6 oz. No what I like.

I'm looking at switching it for a Timney Ultralight Deluxe. Can I do this in a rifle that's already had the stock bedded? Or do I need to change the (rather crappy) sporter stock at the same time?
