1-12 twist .308 20" 168/175 TMK Varget loads

I have a 20" SPS with 1/12 twist. Anyone have a Varget load with this combination ? I use SMK now but I'm having trouble getting a load to shoot decent with the TMK bullets. Anyone ?

Like everyone I know/shoot with we never got TMK's to shoot in any combo of anything in .308 from 16-26". Same with 300wm. They do well if your looking for the lowest score though.

SMK is the way to go with these. I wouldn't spend any time on the TMK in this barrel. Should shoot 175 or 155 SMK pretty well.

I should have added I'm looking to use these in F class at 600. Also it has been a while since I have shot F class. My go to load was 168 SMK with 45.0 Varget seated to 2.800. I messed with seating depth with the SMK and never got any difference.. Have never tried the 155 though. When I tried the 175 SMK they didnt seem to group quite as tight at 600 yards.

You could try the Hornady 178 ELD-M bullets. Hornady has a recommended twist of 1-12, and I've found them to be easy to load for. I don't use Varget, but RL15 is very close. I load 43.5, work up as always.
