I am shooting a Gap Crusader with a 1:11.25. My throat is short. 2.840 to be in lands with a 175 smk. Anyways I read where litz said that these were optimal loads at 2.800. I figured with the little freebore that I have these would be great performers for my next match. Anybody running these please give me some pointers. Will be running power pro 2000 mr anywhere from 47 to 48.5 grains. Thanks.

Berger .308", 175gr OTM is an awesome shooting bullet. Jump or Jam, it doesn't seem to care. Couldn't make that bullet shoot poorly, not matter what combination.

Their OTM special design for less sensitive in seating depth. So, don't worry about it.

2.800" should be fine.

Bryan Litz also make a precision .308 win with this Projectile within Ballistic Technology.

.30 Berger 175 OTM
Lapua Brass
Benchrest Primer
COAL 2.800"

We have not noticed any jump sensitivity with these. 2.8 is good, good projectile, I will be running these in a couple matches my self.

Have you ever comparing between 175 LRBT and 175 OTM

I still shoot 175 LRBT

Why don't you just stay with the 175 SMK. I run them with 43-43.5 gr of Varget at 2.800 with a factory Rem 700 SPS V and they cloverleaf.

It's hard to beat a 175 SMK at any price.

I run the 175 SMKs just a bit past mag length (2.225 to ogive or about 2.815 COAL) with a trued action and 25 in. Bartline 5R 1:11.25 with 43.1 gn Varget and they shoot 0.15 to 0.25 MOA at 100 (and that's probably me, not the rifle).

For competition, you may gain less drift and more accuracy from better projectile.

I'm using 175 SMK during practise due to lower cost and choose Berger for match.
The better projectile will safe your point.

Sorry guys. Been sick. Haven't even been on lately. As Golfy sniper said. Any thing to get a little edge. Not easy to hit a 3" x ring at 600 yards. I haven't even played with it yet but I'm getting 2770 with 175 smks and 48.0 power pro with lapua brass and fgm210 m. May be able to squeeze it to 2800 fps. Will let you guys know

I'm getting 2800 with 44.5 of varget and 46 of CFE223 with 175 smks nosler brass and br2 primers. Didn't believe it at first, went back to the range yesterday to confirm. This is from a 24" barrel. Just picked up some berger 175 otm today to try.

That's ridiculously fast. 44.5 varget only gives me 2688 out of a 22" bartlein. Believe I'd write that lot # down and buy the shit out of it
