I am recahing out for help because during a recent NRL22 competition extractiong reloading and cocking the weapon malfunctioned reducing total shot count by 6 rounds. I recently bought this savage 64 tr-sr seated next to me, I chose this because the barrel was shorter and would force an extra duty to stabilize. The problem is consistent, shoot the first shot (on target), the next round does not always seat. What could be done

2nd problem, disassembling the weapon i twisted the barrel and bent the extraction pin in the carrier bolt. I straightened it out, but its not perfect. I have worked the bolt and it runs smoothly. No notches in the bolt side and no audible scratches. However how important is that small peice that does a wonder for semi automatic.

Best,

Eventually went to a gun smith. He did his job and reported back the gun fired fine. Cycled a few rounds of thunderbolt and the same extraction problem still existed. Of consensus is this ammo the actual problem?
Eventually got a new rifle for NRL 22 shot competitions
