.260 Heavy barrel with a clip/ Savage W/Shilen barrel ?'s

I am looking for one for my nephew for his B-day,(first deer rifle) i have found 6.5x284 in a savage mod 12 BVSS for a pretty good deal that i would buy but it has no clip or drop plate. Anyone have any ideas? Also whats a good buy on a used .260 built on a savage action 26in Shilen match grade bull barrel, choate UV stock with 400rds down the tube? Thanks guys.

Savage Model 10 Predator comes in .260! Right and Left Handed...
I don't know if it has a Shilen Barrel, but it could have one put on...

Yes that gun is being cosidered, just wodered if it would be better to buy a used gun with a shilen barrel. Or just a used gun built off a savage action?
Also can u put a box mag on a savage that only has a blind mag? What does it take?

Yes,I would buy the best bargain and build on it. Yes you can convert by buying all the parts such as the bottom metal that matches the approximate style of reciver you choose.Lots of guys convert stevens and savages with either factory or aftermarket bottom metal which I think the aftermarket is way simpler and less parts and better mags to boot.Building a savage is fun and easy.Call Jim at Northlander supply 1-763-682-4296 it will busy but you will get through or stockade stocks and ask for Kevin Rayhill at 1-308-432-5114.
