Or has no need for extra guns for what's coming down the pike. And who needs a cheap reliable gun to leave in your car/cabin/boat etc.
On a serious note I plan on doing a glock 80 % lower build . I personally don't care for Glocks and it's subjective . If that's your thing rock on . I was just effin around in my previous responses . Oh and PSA had some $300 XDs over the Holidays . May well again .
Edit : I just checked . https://palmettostatearmory.com/springfield-xd-defenders-series-9mm-4-pistol-black-xdd9101hc.html. Ahh Ha Ha Ha Ha . $279 .

Thanks for the heads up on the Glocks, I don't need anymore though. The old AK has it's weak points too, flop around in the sand with one, and watch how fast the magazine follower binds up. I'll still take free, or really cheap ones though..........prefer free.

I like the XD pistol. Had two, one nine and one 45, Both worked and the extractors were tapped out with a hammer handle on the bottom of the slide and was able to radius the entry channel and polish them. Neither were crashing with the case. I just do not like trigger return springs made like Bostitch staple removers. Single wire wound like the ones in the old Berettas. I like the ease of takedown with both Glocks and 1911. 1911 runs nothing but coil springs with the exception of the three fingers in the rear that runs the sear, grip safety and the trigger. Never seen one break and always recommend a quality replacement on some guns. Coils are always superior from my perspective to small single wire wind ups. Do not like the ones that hold tension on the hammer drag bars either. The only thing I do not like about the Glock is the channel liner but admittedly have only replaced one in a gun some Monkey left in it before cerakote cooking. I could go on but would be off topic. A good day to all.

Have carried a pistol every day since I was 21, here is what I have learned;
Started out with a revolver and shot one at the Police Academy in 1980 because that was all that was allowed.
Got home after loading two rounds at a time (was before speedloaders) and decided revolvers were too slow and not enough rounds.
Bought a new Colt Gold Cup and Pachmyr magazines changed the recoil spring and Polished the feed ramp and barrel throat.

Happy as a Lark for seven years and now comes a new Chief of Police and here comes the issue Glock 22's, YUCK!

I seriously tried to kill the 40 pistol and beat it with 5000 rounds until the peen over on the slide bottoms stopped peening. I have to tell you I did not like the unsupported chamber in the 40's and came to much prefer the 21 Glock later on when I got closer to retirement.

Last dept I went back to 1911 and carried a Wilson on duty and a Kimber light rail for my SRT gun. I went to Bushmaster M-4 and a 700 heavy barrel 308 cased for a PR.

What I have learned; Lots of Fools carry guns, including Cops. There people who view the sidearm as just part of the uniform and never want to learn them, shoot them or think of winning gun battles. No matter how much you tell them, they never get it and need to be a barber or insurance salesman, maybe a Politician.

The Glock simply works. It can be carried by semi Monkeys that do not maintain their pistol and they know if they "Pull" the trigger it will go off.

Not saying a Glock is just for Monkeys, just saying the dipshits should not have 1911 on a suspect with a 3-pound trigger that is about to shit his pants because he is scared. 1911 is best in the hands of a Confident well trained Warrior. In his hands, 1911 is the best gun to win with.

The only thing Glock has is simplicity and capacity and weight reduction. I like Glocks and carry two 43's but my Duty Holster gun of choice on a Sam Browne is a 1911 and always will be. I am retired now and do not have a need for a 12 pound Belt so I carry CCW Glocks. 1911 is too heavy for me to carry concealed but the option of a lightweight Commander would be viable. Got to eat.

Our Dept. transitioned to Glock 22's in the late 90's from revolvers. .40's had more power than the 9mm and carried more rounds than the .45. Our SWAT/Entry team carried either 1911's or Glocks. We were lucky. Our Dept were run by gun guys and we qual'd 4x a year with training in between. This obviously wasn't in CA.
When I was a reserve in CA, it was Sigs or Glocks. Most carried Glock and our entry team (SWAT was run by a larger Dept) mostly carried Glock 34's.
Wasn't cost, but just what worked. I trust my Glock 22 and have had to pull my duty weapon several times, but thankfully haven't had to shoot anyone.

Could never kill a Glock no matter how hard I tried. 1911 is just an easy gun to shoot with such good ergo and short reset. I must say that I like both but have a sentimental attachment to 1911. Glock 21 loaded does not weigh much more than an unloaded 1911. Since i am retired, I just like the ease of carry in a 43. I always wished Glock would make a 21 in a single stack, slimmer slide with 1911 grip angle.
