Kicking Ass Somewhere
Rifle is a LRI built Tac 300 action with a Krieger 26 inch 5r mtu contour chamber cut for the MK 248 Mod 1

Brass available 500 brand new FGMM cases picked upon this forum
Powder H1000
Primer ?
Bullets available are 220 smk, 190smk, and 208 amax.

I want to shoot out to a thousand meters without ruining the brass, anyone have a good load for these components or similar?

My load for my 300 WM (Steyr SSG 004)
Hornady 208gr A-MAX.
70 gr of Alliant 4000 MR.
Winchester Large MR
Herter's once fired Brass
Accuracy at 100:

I have a couple of loads for my AI 300WM.
1st Berger 200 Hybrid, FGMM brass, 215M or CCI 250, H-1000 78.3 my AVG FPS = 2966 no pressure sign at all.
2nd 208 A-MAX, FGMM brass, 215M OR CCI 250, H-1000 78.3 my AVG FPS = 2975 case looked good.
3rd New load for me 210 SMK ( The new LR bullet), FGMM brass, 215M, H-1000 76.2 my AVG FPS=2924

i shoot all three of those bullets in my 700p with 4831sc with geat reults. i have tried the 190s with 4000mr but have not found the sweet spot yet with it. i think i shoot 68.5 4831sc with he 208 a max. 2690 supersonic at 1500y at 4000ft elevation. i like to be nice to my brass as well.

I have a similar rifle that was probably cut with the same reamer. Been shooting the Berger 230gr OTM with great results. I'm using H1000 and Remington primers. I did a little impromptu primer testing after getting large ES with CCI primers. I'm sure you will be happy with Chad's work !

Any of the bullets listed will carry to 1000m. The 220 and 208 will have less wind deflection provided your pushing them over 2750 ish.

Make sure you anneal the FC brass as in my experience the necks tends to harden up quick.

As with anything these days its a matter of what you can find too! I have been looking for 210m primers since about 2009. 208 amax are hard to find as well.

If it were me I would try some 190's and see if the shoot. You should be able to push them to 2950 without trying too hard.

I shoot Sierra 240 Match, Military Winchester cases, IMR 7828 = 68.0 grains, Federal 215M primers. My barrel is Bartlein 5R 26", Bartlein cut the chamber. I don't recall the COL but they fit in an AI magazine. If it matters, I will measure some.

How much do your cases weigh?

You guys shooting H1000, did you try 7828? I have a keg of H1000 and a keg of 4831. If you tried 7828, what happened?

When 7828 started shooting 0.5 inch groups at 100, I got lazy and stopped looking.

cases unprepped, not trimmed or sized, weigh between 250.4 -251.1

My congratulations, that is extremely consistent brass. Does it shoot consistently?

My Winchester brass weighs between 239 grains and 246 grains. When I loaded that bunch last weekend, everything under 242 got 68.3 grains, 242 and above was 68.0 grains. It all shoots to the same point of impact at 1,000 yards. Sometimes the lighter brass gets 68.2 grains - depends on how the last targets looked.

My full prep is: tumble (to remove powder and polish), full-length size with a Redding die and a .329 button, tumble (to remove the sizing lube), clean primer pockets, (one time) debur flash holes, trim to length (about 2.612 to 2.615). Prime, charge, seat, and box.
