I am going to WY to shoot some prairre dogs and I am borrowing my bosses AR-50 I need to know the MV of lake city 660 gr. and the BC if you know it

MV will be about 2920 fps and ballistic coeficient is around .670 at that velocity. Have fun!

that stuff is kind of inconsistent though. Have heard that mv's fluctuate a lot.

The velocities given were stated from Lake City. BC is standard M33 ball. I know the Barrett M33 ammo that I shoot from my 50 runs about 2800 but I was going off the the info from Lake City.

The Lake City number is based off a muzzle velocity on a 45" M2 MG barrel. The 29" barrel on the AR-50 or any other bolt gun will be significantly lower as JimmyM40a2 stated, and will probably be a little slower than the Barrett ammo which is pretty hot.

I don't know about rifle loads but for the M2 machine gun it is 3050fps, hope this helps.

Thanks for the info guys it was pretty hot this weekend and the mirage was thick so we settled for 400-500 yards still a kick in the ass
