Gunsmithing 6.5-284 reamer clean up a 6.5 Creedmoor

My gunsmith charges $85 to do this. I figure I already spent $150 on a muzzle brake for the gun.

Just wondered if it would work.

Looking at the cartridge prints for both it appears that this is the case.

Thanks, ought to give me the performance I thought I was getting in the 6.5 CM. What a slow cartridge.

If it wasn't for it's reputation as a barrel burner the 6.5×284 would be way more popular, and it should be. 140's at 3000+, Lapua brass and excellent accuracy.

Kind of a funny story. I bought a Take off varmint weight 6.5 CM barrel from a guy cheap. As far as I can tell it was a new take off. I don't see any wear in the barrel.

I have 4 Nucleus actions, and one is a long .470 Bolt Face.

I wanted to order a 280 Ackley from Proof, but they aren't doing them anymore. So I ordered a 6.5-284 in carbon fiber.

Well I want to save that one for hunting and shoot the other one for most of my practice.

6.5-284 is one of the only reamers my gunsmith has. Because he built But he has a CNC machine, so he is of pretty great value and he is cheap.

I’m in the process of swapping barrels from an old .270 savage to a 6.5-06 which would be the LA non magnum version. Brass can be made from .270 or .25-06 easily with one pass of the die.
