What distance was this target shot at? It looks like 50 yards, but I want to confirm.
You are correct, sir. It was 50 yards... My apologizes.

Well I'm gonna sell my guns if that's fifty shots @ 200 yes and the squirrels r n trouble!
I did have one scamper out at the 200 yard line and I thought about trying to get him but if the range owner found out I’d be done! She is NOT fond of folks shooting the wildlife there. Been warned many times to be mindful of the deer that graze in the line of fire.

Ha, yeah no kidding. I was just making sure that it wasn’t 50 meters as opposed to yards for when I converted the MOA measurements to inches.

So gave it another go without the suppressor at 50 yards. @jbell I did the math for you (might even be right  )...
The Bergara seems to like shooting naked with about a 15% reduction in aggregate group size. Is that with in the standard deviation of the idiot behind the trigger? 🤷‍♂️

Nice! I have you updated. I find that most of the time a rimfire will shoot a bit better W/O a can on it.

U ain't planning on running a muffler on them Squirrels R U ? Your a heartless killer !

I got a new batch of SK BiathlonSport and was at the range at sunrise. It was super foggy. The camera doesn’t pick up or show how thick it was. For the first 40 minutes I could barely see the 100yard targets. The first two 100 yard groups were impressive. From a clean barrel I shot 5 rounds of CCI Quiet, 3 rounds of loose SK something and then shot ten rounds of CenterX I had left in a box to foil the bore. I could barely make out the targets.
83A19617-05F5-4EBA-80E3-87AE045E251C.jpeg
It went down hill from there. I then decided to compare the CZ 452 and 457 MTR at 100 yards with the BiathlonSport since that was as far as I could see. I shot the first target with ten rounds and couldn’t even see enough to tell. On a sunny, cool day I can see .22 holes at 300 yards with this scope.
6C00415B-8D91-4FAD-87EE-3CAF6E43C9D5.jpeg

When enough fog dissipated to see the 300 yard targets somewhat I did the same at 300. I could see the 300 yard targets before I could see the 200 yard targets because of the targets I used. I don’t think this lot of BiathlonSport is as good as the last one I got. The big dropper on the center target shot by the 452 I heard as it came out of the barrel. It had a different sound. The other guy at the range heard it too (Yes, there was another fool there that early). We looked at each other when it happened. He said “Yeah I heard it”.

So the one thing I did improve on was my 200 yard 6x5. I shot it with a random lot of lower speed Center X I had a brick of and figured I would try. The fog was gone and the wind had arrived at this point. I zoomed out to 15X so I could see the wind streamer I had hanging beside it at least when it was flying at and angle above 45 degrees. I flattened the cardboard while measuring.

Appalachian, I have your best group at 300 yards and 200 yards and also the 200 yard average updated. Please just double check me on it. I think I have the correct distance for the targets. Great shooting in tough conditions.

Yes sir. I didn’t even realize I had some new best groups and if they still counted if the average wasn’t a new best. Thank You kindly.

Most lots of Center X shoot great for me out to 100 yards and sometimes 200, but by 300 it falls apart. I’m going to the Lapua test center Monday. I’ll tell Luke he needs a longer tunnel.

A new 6x5 entry for 2021
9.9.21 Conditions - Hot, 88 deg F, mild breeze only
Dist - 50y
Rifle: Anschutz Model 54 Super match gen-I, vintage 1958
Optic: Unertl 20x
Ammo: Lapua Center X, speed code 27

Best: 0.144" - 0.275 MOA
Ave: 0.199" - 0.380 MOA

I posted a shot of the tgt. I had just remounted the scope and went to the range and zeroed the rifle along with another one thus all of the random holes on the other bulls. Then I shot two five shot groups in the lower left two bulls which looked pretty good, so I took the time to complete a 6x5 which I have not done in a good while. I have had smaller groups with this rifle in the past but this set was nice and consistent which I like. This might be the best average it has posted.

Measured outer edge to outer edge minus .210" for grease ring dia.
Average group: .361"

Irish, excellent shooting. Great to have you back, I have you on the results!

Deodand, welcome! I have you on the results also.

It's been quite a while since I actually contributed. I recently got my V-22 360 completed. I took it out to zero and get some velocities out of the long barrel. I shot around 80 rounds and didn't clean it. I took it out yesterday with a fouled bore and shot this target cold. You can see the cold bore +4 on the top target and then the following 30 rounds. I am pretty happy for the first 115 rounds. It was calm and in the mid 60's when I shot this with a random lot of Center X.

As stated it's a V-22 360, TT Diamond 2 stage, KRG Bravo, and a 26" 15t 3 groove Benchmark.

This is the only picture I have of it right now, it's the black one with the long barrel.

Lot testing today, in the drizzle, but finally no wind so i couldn't avoid it :D

Two new PBs unfortunately they are in two different 6x5s ... would have been a new PB average too if i hadn't (/&/)// up one shot.

Interestingly the Team shots were going supersonic ( ~1126 ft/s ).

Sig Sauer 200 STR (with a nice long 27" barrel ;) )

best 0.297 MOA

bottom 6x5
Average is 0.672 MOA

What kind of velocity are you getting with the Center X out the 26”.

👆 that's with zero rounds on the barrel for what that is worth...

First time with Lapua Center X. Was hoping for better consistency, but hopefully that improves with practice and maybe some tuner work. Starting off with a 0.174 after my fouling shots got me really excited, didn't duplicate, but finished strong at 0.257. I'll take it.

  • CZ 457 in KRG Bravo, factory Pro Varmint barrel
  • Factory trigger with DIP shoe, adjusted to just over 1lb (factory spring)
  • Arken SH-4 GenII 6-24x50
  • 50 yards, bench with bags
  • Single shot adapter
  • Lapua Center-X
  • Barrel was cleaned prior to testing.

Best: 0.174"
Average: 0.466" with cold bore/fouling shots, 0.451" without

jbell, had a chance to hit the range today to do some ammo testing (Eley Match), winds were light, which has been highly unusual for my area. I shot with my 2500X rifle, Shilen barrel, Harrell's tuner, Bix N Andy trigger, RoTex Stock, on a one piece PQP Lite rest.

I've attached two targets, using the first 4 bulls on the top target and the 800/900 (top 2) bulls on the lower target. Winds picked up for the last two bulls on the lower target and opened up the groups a bit.

I measured from edge to edge of the brown ring, subtracted 0.223 from each value, then averaged all 6 targets. The group average was 0.447 and the best group was 0.279. No cold bore on these targets.

Let me know if you need more info? It's been awhile since I have submitted any targets.

Thanks,

RFS99

I'm leaving right now for a weekend in the woods. I'll get it updated late tomorrow 👍

Well I FINALLY got to do some Chrony work on my Vudoo Three60 .22LR and shot a 6x5 for each ammo I tested aswell for some data. Wind started off decent but got worse by the time I shot the Eley Edge so that data is a tad tainted but I mainly wanted to test feeding and see if Eley had potential in my Three60.

I tested the following ammo:
RWS R50
SK Rifle Match
SK High Velocity Match
Eley Edge

Shot the rifle off a bench, harris bipod, tab gear rear bag. Chrony used was Labradar. All at 50yds.

Attached below is photos of rifle and the four 6x5 I shot.
Best Average was RWS R50 @ .346in, .662 MOA
Best Group was SK Rifle Match @ .128in, .244 MOA

The Chrony data is on top of the page. I also included the fouler target. Was good to see decent groups off the bat with each ammo. I cleaned with each change of brand of ammo but didnt clean between both SK ammo tests.

Cheers guys. Was good to get some solid data with this rig. I love shooting it. I have approx 900rds thru it now.

I assume this is 100 yards based on how your rifle has shot in the past, but I wanted to confirm before I made any changes. Damn good shooting if so!
