From my understanding the bolt lugs on a remington 700 are welded on, anyone know how much pressure it would take to shear them off. has it ever happened.

Re: 700 bolt lugs

I think when they say the lugs are welded on, they are talking about the hole part of the bolt, including the face, lugs and right behind them . I don't think they mean that the lugs themself are welded on to the body itself. I could be wrong but thats how I understand it.

Re: 700 bolt lugs

The entire bolt nose and lugs are one part and one of the three pieces it takes to have a complete bolt assembly. The juncture point is soldered together. The bolt body and handle are the other two parts.
