Why do most of the AIs in these photos rock NF? Is that the cool thing to do now? If so, what NF is suited well to the not-so-cool 308?

308 only good for 600 yards so 4-16x42 is perfect. One of my favorite scopes
I have new 800 yard wall, found it online.

4-16 or 4-20 ATACR is perfect for 308. I really like the 7-35 but find myself wishing it was a little smaller at times.
I will say I am impressed with the ZCO. As soon as a mil unit adopts it im onboard so I can LARP

That's about as long as i kept my 7-35 ATACR.
Hate all you want. I could build a house with it as the hammer. Plus I feel more operator because it’s NF on the rifle.

If you really wanna be a baller with your AI you’d be putting them there S&B 5-25’s on them. 
For the record, I don't hate NF. I've had 4 or 5. They are great scopes. I just wasn't willing to go backwards in glass quality. Other than that, I really liked the 7-35.

Edit: I realize the irony of sticking for for last decades tech in NF 7-35 but making fun of old S&B. Both are great. I just love my bomb-proof set up with NF an Spuhr. I did look through a ZCO and was appalled by difference in clarity vs my NF. And those little hollow circles. So hott. But it just haven’t quite gotten there.

My AT 308 rocks the 4-16 ATACR. Awesome scope. I primarily use it for hunting. My AXMC has the 7-35 ATACR which is a nice fit for that rifle
ATACR is what I would choose if you want NF/AI combo. Otherwise S&B or ZCO
Most of my AI's sport s&b.... I have 1 tangent and 1 zco, plus a few nf on them. S&B and AI is like pb & jelly.... always right together

I shot my AI on Sunday. I have many pics but for some reason they need to be cropped down to upload. 
16.25" 6.5 creedmoor. Have a 19" 308 I just cut down and the 26" 6x47.
Looking to make a spigot mount I can directly mount a atlas cal to that's closer to the bore. Haven't found anything on the market I've liked.
And hopefully will be receiving the Atacr 4-20 I just bought soon! Baby steps... have a full set of spare thumbhole skins I want to dip too.

You might look at the Elite Iron Spigot. Might be money/time away to get one and mill the pic off and drill tap for a atlas. Sweet piece has a tensioner to lock up tight
