cross threading aluminum is low strength compared to swapping loctite for JB weld. Problem solved, problem staying solved.

Then just TIG the mount to the scope.

Next TIG the rings to the rail.

Rail to the action.

Action to barrel.

Barrel to hand.

Other hand to crotch.

This scope was on a FDE AXSR. I just put a TT 7-35 on the SR instead. So the RAL8000 may be moving to a PB AXSA or a new home.

I’ve got a ‘23 AT, so it must be the new green.

I have a green barrel too. Was black from Mile High but I had em coat it because at the time I had an AX and I really liked that AX “all green” factory look.

Now the AX is gone and have to say, don’t miss it.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you. An FDE AT might look pretty good with a RAL8000 scope though.

And a AX FDE…mmmm ok now I gotta just stop this line of anti-Sage green immoral thought lol RAL8000 is the siren that is trying to wreck me upon the FDE shoals of Sodom/Gomorrah.

the green skins look best with darker more muted "tans" or "browns". burnt bronze or a dark earth brown.

I like it man! Rocking a little bit of that SCAR 50 shades of FDE thing, which is something I appreciate. Looks a lot better than a sage green AT with the same scope (or at least less discombobulating/unusual).

I love my AT and won't sell it for anything but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want an atx/xc also. There is one at my range in a m81 woodland camo that looks so nice.

had an AX, sold it. still have my AW/ATs.

couldn't get over the tall height over bore and the gun balance just felt wrong. i did like the butt stock though.

I had an AX and felt similar. Prone I don't think there is anything more comfortable but off a bag on obstacles it was just so tall and tippy I couldn't shoot it well. Sold it and wasted a few years of my life and thousands of dollars just to find an AI again.

It’s also an AE model, MKI or MKII and not an AT, not that it matters… Sad thing is that trigger is probably the best trigger AI ever produced, except for maybe the early target rifles. My son had an AE MKIII and it was a phenomenal rifle…

The AI FDE is just a touch darker than the old Glock FDE. It is definitely more brown than tan.

2) Yep, everything has gone way up. I just saw a video title along the lines of "My $12,xxx PRS Rifle" by Phillip Velayo (sp) on YouTube. Good for the guys that want to go that route. It ain't me though.

That was CTSA in New Braunfels. I'm a member at the shorter public range next door, but working on a spot at this place. Only goes out to ~550 but it's about the only option for +300 within a couple of hours.

IIRC he said that $12k was MSRP and he didn’t pay that out of pocket as a sponsored shooter.

Yup! I loved my at-x so much i decided to get an at-xc. Always liked the AT with thumbhole stocks so traded the atx chassis for this setup since i dont want an atx and a xc. My plan was to sell the vision forend and just have a complete AT but now i have it in hand the vision setup is nicer than i expected.
