Adjusting parallax with what magnification?

I've been reading mixed ways of adjusting parallax. Would it make sense to do this with max magnification so it's easier to pickup movement and then reduce it to the desired magnification for that range?

I adjust it at the magnification I'm shooting at. If you change magnification you could affect the focus of the target

Once parallax is set changing your mag shouldn't affect your setting.
Parallax is just getting your target and your retical on the same focal plane.
