Fucking 20 year old design in an anemic round no one with 3 brains cells to rub together wants.I got one 6.5 aiae, nothing wrong with a 308. What's old tech?

Probably because they don’t have enough brain cells to learn proper recoil management or learn a wind call beyond edge-of-plate....Fucking 20 year old design in an anemic round no one with 3 brains cells to rub together wants.
66 year old design. And it still works just fine.
Point me to the 2300-2400 used ATs...
You said just north of 2k will get an AT, I'm waiting for a link....
So u got a barrelless at for 2400, what's a takeoff barrel for that rifle cost, 450-600. That partial rifle would cost someone 3k to actually shoot, unless they had a pile of barrels like you. I'm not insulted by some random dude on the interwebs. My old shitty aiae still plugs along shooting .25moa, so I guess I'll keep my inferior rifle. Shit this place slips to ar15.com gr sonetimes, sorry OP for this shitposting hijacker.
So does a horse and buggy. That's why there are ferriers and horse traders in every town.66 year old design. And it still works just fine.
It's ok, there are plenty other mouthbreathers around here to keep ya company broski.Just when I thought I had 3 brain cells, @Primus tells me I don’t. Shucks, guess I’m just a fuddy that clings to the ancient technology of a .308...
To the OP, MkIII rifles seem to go for around 2-2.5k on here depending on their condition, extras, and seller motivation.
A 7/6.5/6/22 will be flatter and have less wind drift, but a 308 is still an excellent caliber with a very long barrel life.
It is obsolete. Nothing else matters. It would be like nascar runnung Richard Petty's 1971 championship car. Is it fast? Yeah. Compared to modern race cars it's a fucking dinosaur. Stop being obtuse.Interesting the folks mentioning the "old" design of the .308
Considering the 6.5CM is pretty much just a slightly different case dimension refinement of a 73 year old update to a 130 year old design.

The caliber is absolutely relevant. It effects the overall cost and value. If you have to dump another $800 I into a $2300 gun when you can get what you want for $2800 it would be stupid. How is this hard to understand? Some of you are like talking to children.primus, to be honest I didn't ask about the 308 as a cartridge. I asked about the rifle and its value. fairly simple question that has turned into a 308 vs 6.5 thread. I now know where you stand on that particular topic although I didn't ask and really don't care. thank you all for the input
Negative ghost rider. Trying to discect old tech Into a date is a red herring. The fact of the matter is, today we shoot calibers that are ballistically superior to what some of the old heads think is fine. The fact is, your point was irrelevant and you were being obtuse.I think you might be missing the point of the comment.

Checkout the ballistics of a 308 with a Flatline 160gr.Negative ghost rider. Trying to discect old tech Into a date is a red herring. Check out the ballistics of a flatlines 122gr 6.5 and it absolutely smokes it.Checkout the ballistics of a 308 with a Flatline 160gr.
Absolute claims usually come from peckerheads.

Which really means nothing considering you couldn't get .6+bc factory match ammo for $25 or less for box until the last 10 years. Nor could you pick up a factory rifle with a chassis that shoots half moa for $1k. Existence and being practical/available for the unwashed masses are not the same thing.I'm taking it you are a dedicated believer in 6.5CM it seems.
Nothing wrong with 6.5CM, it's a decent round that's easy to work with because it fits in .308 sized actions, magazines & uses the same bolt face.
The whole idea of a 6.5mm round is actually pretty old, as is the idea of longer more aerodynamic bullets for it. It's mostly in the USA that it's "new", it's been very popular in Europe for a very long time in a number of different variants.
for $1500 I'd buy it regardless of the barrel on it. I sold some Mark II ones for $2500ish but would snap up a MK III (or MKII) that I found for $1500I never said what the guy is asking for the rifle. what if he's asking 1500 for it?
I’m almost positive the 6.5 predates the .308 Winchester. Just sayin....
