ok so last night I impulse ordered a tricked out KRG Whiskey 3...with mil discount grand total $1,300. Did I just waste my money?? I about puked when I got the order confirmation. Maybe I should've spent 500 on something basic and took the extra money for other things. I hope this will be worth it.

Look at it this way... That more or less matches the $1,200 stimulus check you just got, so you've really only got $100 into it. You spent the money with a solid American company rather than purchasing a Chinese flat-screen TV like most Americans did... The last thing the gub'ment wanted you to do with that money was buy gun stuff & in these uncertain times, ya really can't go wrong.

I'm a world class rationalizer when it comes to money spent on guns (and I'm sure I'm not alone here), so if you need me to help you through any other purchases you feel you shouldn't have made, just let me know.

I love it, thanks!!

As a man’s taste in toys goes up, his BAC threshold for purchases needs to go down. Conversely as a man’s BAC goes up, he cares less what other people (including himself) think about his purchases.

A conundrum indeed...
I totally get that...that money was being spent towards LR shit anyway. I just was wondering, should I have put all my eggs into the chassis and not something else...new tripod, new pelican case, decent spotting scope, etc...

Which one of these things would you use the most... A tripod, a case, a spotter or your primary means of interaction with the rifle on every shot?

In golf, they say your best putter is probably your best golfer... Sure everybody wants to whack that 300 yard drive, but you use your putter on every hole, so it's best to get good with that club.

its a badass chassis

what is “tricked out” do tell.
I just added to the order their bolt knob, spigot mount, and full length arca rail. And got the folding option of course.

I need to get the enclosed fore end. I wish they made one with an arca rail just built in...

Well...

Just saying that there is a certain MRAD on sale right now, and certain flannel and camo wearing person needs a rifle.

That rifle is so awesome. I did the initial testing for the ASR program. 300NM is phenomenal. Great trigger too.

So long as you can still pay your bills and keep food on the table...it's only money, you can always make more and you can't take it with you.

I've thought about these types of purchases over and over again. But my conclusion is this. If you buy things like this often enough, your buyers remorse will fade with each passing purchase. Until one day when you no longer have these concerns after the next purchase. Take it from an expert, it gets easier.

Congrats on your latest purchase!

I think you did ok OP.

Only poors like me run the budget chassis options.

I'm still using the stock that my Remington M700VS came with 20 years ago. It is sub MOA with Federal's GMM ammo, so why change it?

You will only be an idiot if your shot groups open up with the chassis installed.

nice.

here is one thing you can try. login to amazon and add shit to your cart that you want or need.
when you have enough items in your cart to cover the cost of the other item you really want, empty the cart and call it your sacrifice.
i almost did that last night to justify an RRS tripod package. almost. :p

If it works it works, but with newer stuff you can fit the rifle to you easier.

Not ordinary idiot, Blithering Fucking Idiot.
Just kidding, I usually never tell on myself when I do stupid shit, not that what you did was even remotely stupid.
Here is an Ampmate case feeder that was a waste of money to me, got the hammer and the dumpster treatment.

See I like this... I can tell you're an OG rationalizer from way back too!

hell yeah!
i've used not buying backup generators to justify a shitload of cool stuff, but i really should get those generators (or an RRS combo).

Once you use the chassis it’s going to be a nice feeling! Definitely worth it. Now the other things you were potentially looking at are going to float around that same price or higher

Non-Buyer’s Regret
Only once, a Browning superposed, non engraved white receiver, duck on one side, goose the other, nice wood. Listed on a site, cannot recall which one for a year for 2K.
I can see not having a Vudoo 22 or equivalent down the road causing issues too. But SOB, I'd be the only one around here with one, plus have you ever asked someone to spot for you while shooting a 22LR at 500 yards? The enthusiasm isn't there, but that same person would entice you into toasting a barrel on a centerfire rifle while you are shooting it at maximum range, lol

buy nice or buy twice. I often have buyers remorse but then I remember how much money I’ve saved by not buying something cheaper just to have it sooner. You picked a good chassis forsure!

This will be my 3rd chassis after not finding the perfect one.

I went through 6 in 3 months on my vudoo before finally finding an AI AX chassis for it so I know the feeling lol

I bought a Vortex G2 Razor 4.5-27 from Eurooptic on their July 4th sale. Then I heard back from Scott at Liberty Optics...and bought one from him too because of the deal they offer. It’s a disease. One I’ve learned to live with quite well.

No, you're not; but I suspect I am...

Just got reamed by SWMBO for spending $1600 on mostly gun stuff last mo; well over 40 items. Those 40 or so items have allowed e to Reconfigure 6 or 7 AR's from carbine configuration to enhanced A2 configuration as well as standardizing their ergonomics and enhancing the operating controls. Handling each is precisely the same as handling any of the others. Even the optics vary only in that their reticles are optimized for their specific chambeings.

But Hun (she was born in Germany..., D'Oh!)...; it's really only $400, the rest was Uncle Sugar...

No Lie...

MAGA, one (maybe a lot more than one) gun at a time.

When you settle for the “cheaper” whatever, it’s going to bug you until you buy the thing you really wanted. I think most of us here have learned this, lol
I completely get that and usually live by that. I know optics, ammo components, barrels, etc cant be bought cheaply and still have great results. I just have such a hard time seeing how RRS tripods are worth the money. I've used one before and sure, it was great...but idk about 1,400 bucks, great. I have my eyes on a Leofoto setup.

I totally understand and I’m in no position to drop $1300 on the RRS setup I want. My next set of legs will probably be the piglite tripod from HOG Saddle/Shadow Tech. Having said that, Leofuckto will never get a dime from me after their blatant rip-off of RRS products.
