And now for something totally different - need guys with custom truck/diesel build skills

@TheGerman

Is there a reason you are thinking diesel other than being more representative of the original?

In an off road environment I think I would be looking for a gas engine. Lighter weight is my biggest reasoning. Diesels are great but hauling heavy loads is where they shine and that comes with it's own weight penalty.

This one looks like more fun...

If it was me i would go jeep chassis. Its allready boxed and tons of aftermarket. Pair that with a 4bte cummins and fab the shell

The downsides to buying one is they are :
hard to get in and out of, especially quickly
nowhere near comfortable (they all get hot inside)
a used one has likely already been flogged
not conducive to many chassis changes as they are purpose built and the chassis is the frame/structural integrity of the car
I know. But 600hp and a 4speed tcase!

I'm a design engineer and a YouTube certified mechanic. If you want someone to make a mess, strut around like they know what's happening, and bang on shit with a deadblow until it works count me in!

On the specs for the DAGOR that are actually disclosed, it lists the engine as a turbo diesel.

Also, from a 8500 curb weight and a 4000 payload capacity, I'm thinking diesel is where its at.
