This is the throat of a McGowan .300 prc remag. The barrel was bought second hand so the round count is unknown. I have 150 rounds through it. 230gn Berger OTM tactical in front of 88gn of Ramshot LRT. Would it be worth the trouble to get a uni-throater and try to clean it up?

first and only really important question is going to be "how does it shoot" ? If it shoots good at distance then don't mess with it.

It shoots 1.5 MOA at 500 yards. The rifling is sharp. There is not alot of fire cracking either.
can you shoot a 300 PRC better than that? That's a lot of round to shoot super tight with. If it isn't something that looks like it would mess your bullet jacket up it probably isn't doing anything that you will be able to detect on target.

Definitely the #1 question is "how does it shoot?" Since you answered that, then you can move to #2: "Are you satisfied with that?" If the answer is no, then time to mess with it. If you are comfortable with the accuracy, then don't mess with it. Just don't base #2 off of dick measuring on the forums, it has to fall short of what you want for its intended purpose.

That is a less important area of a barrel for a gouge (if there is really such a thing. Across the lands would be a different story. I've shot barrels that looked like a warzone through a borescope, and they were still sub-minute.
