Hey guys/gals I'm in the process of building a .338 Edge (I'll post pics when she's done

)and while searching for info on the web I always ended up here. I am looking forward to learning lots and becoming a better shooter. I'd love to go to a training course but there isn't much for that in the great white North. Only decision I still need to make is a Scope and I've got a few months for that.
Thanks
Brett

Re: Another newbie

Welcome. There are many great shooters on this site with a lot of knowledge to share.

Not sure what your intended purpose with your rifle is, but you may want to look up the guy tha came up with the Edge, Shawn Carlock if I recall correctly. I think he holds courses that are mostly geared towards long range hunting. Nice guy. I have spoken with him on the phone before. For scopes, I personally would recommend Nightforce, but there are many great scopes out there to choose from. Post in the optics section if you want more feedback specific to that.

Re: Another newbie

Well, considering your not going to be shooting a factory load my suggestion is to take at a look at the reloading section and familiarise yourself with everything.

In regards to the training, check out the hides online training. You will have to outlay an initial fee of around $200 if i recall correctly and its an addition $10 a month. You can do it all online at home in your own time and would no doubt be of benefit to you.

Scope.... get a Nightforce
