Hi,

I know this is a rare subject, but I am wanting to see if there in anyone in central Alabama that has a tubegun style chassis and would be willing to meet up and allow me to shoot it. I may also reach out to the highpower match director at Brock’s Gap as they are popular in that discipline.

Considering building (among other things) a bolt rifle in the next year or two based off an Eliseo chassis. Currently looking at either a long action Bighorn Origin or Defiance Mutant with a .308 or 30-06 barrel.

Here’s the thing, I really like AR ergonomics, but am unsure of how it will translate to running a bolt. Also considering a MCS Eh1, MCS T, KMW Sentinel, and a Teirney AMP chassis if I decide against the tubegun.

Also would like to handle an RPR as it is basically a mass produced tubegun. Any known relevance?

Anyways, I’d appreciate it, we can work out the details such as me either buying or paying for ammo and range fees.

If this needs to be moved to the member link up section, please do so.

Thank you,

Yeah the CMP range and the folks at Creedmoor Sports in Anniston may be able to help you.

I shoot an Eliseo and a JAE-700 and a McMillan A5 in NRA Highpower matches.... all different, but all good.

@PBWalsh if by AR ergos you mean the grip to trigger arrangement, then yes. Also, it will accept any grip that an AR will, so you can easily change the grip/trigger arrangement as well.

I have not used my Eliseo for tactical shooting, just for NRA Highpower.
The Eliseo's butt stock adjustment makes switching between Standing, sitting, and prone super easy. I actually have two separate butt stock assemblies and I leave one set up for standing all the time.
I've been looking for a used Eliseo bipod but have missed a few.

For standing, the Eliseo can't be beat. But for sitting and prone I prefer my JAE-700 (anschutz rail with hand stop). I've got a Defiance mutant in my Eliseo. It's a nice action, but I don't think they make them anymore.

You should look at Gary's Ultimate Match Rifle, I think it uses a Pierce action. Give Gary a call, he's busy, but he's a great guy.

Let me know if you have other questions.
Regards,
Ross

Thats kinda what I thought. I’ll have to call him as I’d like to see about carbon fiber options for the handguard with an OD of 1.75” and possibly M-Lok. I’ve seen a picture or two with a CF handguard.

Do you know what your bare chassis weight is? Trying to get away from heavy rifles if I can avoid it (had an AIAT, don’t particularly want weight or AI stock ergonomics if I can help it).

I like these chassis because of their versatility. Would be nice to go from palma, highpower, PRS, etc. with just a barrel, bolt, and sight change. One trigger, one optic, one action, one interface can run .223 for training up to a .338 LM. My plan is for .223 and 30-06 bolt faces if I go with a tubegun.

Only downside I’m seeing is weight as I am estimating it at 4 pounds. I can get a MCS EH1/T1 at 28-30 oz...

Called Creedmore Sports today. They do not have any for sale. Might just need to drive to the CMP or another highpower match.
