I have one of those.... not that big. Only about 4 feet long! It works like a charm!

I've seen that auction/for sale item before. It is pretty darn cool!

Probably handheld, but mounts are not hard to work out for that sort of thing. A U.S. Mil spotting scope tripod would hold it fine with 'strap clamps' I am sure!
