Hi all,
I'm trying to put together a business plan to get some investment for a gunsmithing shop. Very early days and I'm still fleshing out the details. Has anybody used or have an opinion on the XYZ Machine Tools equipment? They run ProtoTrak conversational programming. I'm not sure whether to go for a 3 Axis Bed mill (with a 4th axis add-on) or their Mini Mill VMC. Because of the area I'm in work is going to range from precision rifle building, blueprinting, chambering, fluting etc although I'd like to end up manufacturing my own actions and bolts as well as silencers, and I'm also working on a single shot rifle design and would like to manufacture my own sidelock and shotgun actions and components. So initially production runs will be relatively low.
For a lathe I was considering a Haas TL-1, looks like a great compromise between a CNC/Manual machine. As for experience it's all been manual so far...
Any input appreciated, thanks.
