Any suggestions on loads for 7mm08

Hey guys ....new guy here

I have a Rem 700 SPS Varmint in 7mm08 26 inch barrel 1:9 twist. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on loads.
I currently have 162gr Amax, 150 SMK , 168 SMK
H380,H414,Varget, BL-C(2)
Application-target shooting out to 1000yds
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I'll hold back on charge weights, but these are the loads my 20" Steyr Mountain Rifle likes

130 SMK
VV N-140 or RE15
Win brass
Fed 210(M)

162 A-Max
IMR 4064 (the only powder that could get this bullet to shoot for me)
Win brass
Fed 210(M)

140 Ballistic Tip
RE 15
Win Brass
BR2

All of these loads hold .75 moa(3 shots) out of my Steyr. It's a lightweight sporter, so that is completely acceptable accuracy for its intended use.

I will say that 7mm-08 is a fantastic round, and perhaps the best compromise for Whitetail in my area(SC). However, it has been a damn sight more finnicky to load for than any 308 or 223 I've ever loaded for. Not sure if it's the rifle or if 7-08 is just a little trickier. The Steyr rifles do enjoy a reputation for stellar accuracy though. Heck, if I could rebarrel the darn thing I'd build an LR rig out of it!

I have not gone out that far but I shoot a four inch gong at 500 yars worth 140 accubonds and nosler BT with 43.5 gr of imr 4064
and you can put all 5 shots in that gong

I have that rifle and have used the 162's with 414. Good combo. Single feed and load long. 44 to start and work up. 2.288 and 210m. in mine. If you can get to 2600 [2650] or so do not get greedy. Its already there.

I shoot a 120g & 140g nosler HBT only as its a hunting rig & use blc2/varget/h414, all from 41g to 43.5g, using standard LRP primers.
COL from 2.800" on the 120g to 2.780" on the 140g.
Savage M11, 22" sporter bbl. 1/9.25" twist
Accurate to 700yds and moa at that range and under moa from 200-400 yds.
Not the heavy bullets you use, but the powders you listed are all good for them.

Are you talking about the Steyr? If so, I'll have to give this a go. I've neglected her while I've been working up loads for my F/TR/tactical rig.

Ive got a pretty good load for the 150MK,
39grs RE15, 9 1/2 primers, Rem brass

For the 162AMAX, 41grs 2000MR

Also load for the 150NBT, 39.5grs Varget.

I use 45.1 gr. of RE-19 behind a 180 Berger or Sierra. Same with a 175 gr. bullet. 47 gr. of RE-19 behind a 168 gr. pill. I shoot that out of a 26" Shilen barrel. The concept of using more of a slow powder to reduce initial pressure. It's effective in a long barrel, not a short one. We tried it in a short barrel and got quite the flame out the end of the barrel. Along with a substantial loss of velocity.

Work up to that, and good luck with it.
