I think banning people from that place who are clearly adding to the discussion and a major part of the website culture has been part of ARFCOM since at least 2004, and before that, perhaps. There were many people who had thousands of posts, were major contributors to the more technical parts of the site, who ended up banned for one reason or another and never returned. Interestingly, the website still has the same overall feel and attitude even after all that bannage, so I'm not sure what they're accomplishing. But that BS has been part of that site for at least the last 17 years.

A big problem there is there's just way too many fucking mods there and the rule about working things out with the mod who banned you is ridiculous!
Used to be my goto site for news it was amazing how quickly things where reported and broken down and the block button kept the riff raff from being to annoying but the mods lost there shit when Jan 6 happened and the site has gone to shit. Even the traffic in the tech forms has dropped in quality.

Looking into a class action lawsuit for Arfcom. They seem to be taking money for memberships and then heavy handed moderators are locking accounts arbitrarily without regard to the code of conduct.
