the assault weapons ban wont pass. just read through about 12 news reports on Google and its looking pretty good.

im probably going to sell at least one AR-15 and make some good money one it. wait for this shit to die down then pick up a real nice one off of someone who went out and bought one because its what everyone else was doing.(the ar-15 bubble)

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

If it doesn't pass this time, they'll always keep going after them. We just have to voice our rights ! Let it be heard, loudly .

That is what they said about the health care bullshit. Do not under estimate him.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

They are finding out that they can have the states do their dirty work.

Why risk your congressional seat voting if your state governor has already broken the 2A.

Dont be fooled, keep writing, especially at your local level.

The little fish have to listen to their constituents and they will pressure those further up the food chain.

Ah boy, I'm glad to hear that now I can go back to not paying attention to the law makers who try to sneak stuff through while putting out fake/biased news stories that the sheep use to buttress their complacency.

I doubt anyone who rushed out to buy an AR will be selling it if all this dies down. More likely, they'll buy more so that they don't get caught with their pants down when this all happens again next year.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

I think it is tough to determine what will or will not pass listening to the media. They are all biased wether it is Fox or MSNBC. Even the "independent polls" after this last election results have proven to be wrong. Nobody was calling for a ban after all the other shootings, Sandy Hook was different. I think you can only worry about your local politicians and keep intense pressure on them. That, and trying to educate those around you about guns and why you feel they should not be banned without being divisive and confrontational to the uninitiated.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

The truly unfortunate fact is that any of these provisions can easily be slid into some completely unrelated bill. It happens all the time. They could put parts in a farm bill, or a education appropriation act, or ANY bill.

Stay vigilant.

^^This^^

Plus remember that this Bill is just the tip of the iceberg, not to mention a great smokescreen to keep our attention away from all the myriad things that are going on behind the scenes.

We must keep the pressure on our elected officials and keep donating to the organizations that will do so. Whether that means the NRA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, or other pro-Second Amendment favorite group,it almost doesn't matter. To stand down now is to concede defeat later.

This is such a horrible comparison...

The house and senate was dem controlled, and nobody actually saw it NOT happening with such strong Dem support...

The house is now republican, and the bill doesn't even have strong support from dems, as well as NO support from house republicans.

Completely different scenarios. Completely.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

I will add that anyone freaking out wanting an AR, I will gladly sell you one for $4000...

It may not be an apples to apples comparison as you pointed out but looking at it from a Constitutional point of view forcing healthcare or taking guns are both unconstitutional. His way around it was calling it a tax. What will be his way around "shall not be infringed"?
Perhaps a tax on ammo or guns. Perhaps getting the EPA involved. Bullets are usually lead and the powder causes greenhouse gasses.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HIM! He is determined and gets what he wants.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

Don't get me wrong, maintain due dilligence, but don't freak out... Level heads, steady pressure.

The bigger problem right now is at the state levels, but the state's constituents have to address that problem.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

i hope that awb won't pass, but i am not confident. many in congress, the media, and the president seem to be of one mind. they have the big cities in their pockets.

Or New York. Or Maryland. Or most of New England.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

Don't forget Chicago and New York, the funny thing about Illinois is, must if the state is rural. The city if Chicago is a nightmare. So the rest if the state has to suffer for what inner city thugs participate in. Not fair for the state.

Maryland is the same...Eastern Shore and the Western half of the state are normal....but sadly Baltimore, Frederick, and Annapolis more than outweigh that.

X2 look at the home health now.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

Even with that said, some of the kling-on bills are ridiculous.
They are trying in so many ways to create barriers to limit peoples access to purchase or possess. They don't understand their pledge or oath of office(Instill the rights of the constitution of the United States) and the infringement on our second amendment rights of the individuals and people of a free nation which is exactly what they are trying to legislate. Maybe not federal but states also are coming up with some stupid stuff too.

Re: assault weapons ban wont pass

I sure hope it will not pass. The sad thing is you just have to keep putting on shootings and keep this bill stuff in the process and eventually it will stick.

Once it does pass get prepared to be a slave to the state.
