Barrett 98B 338 Lapua accuracy?

I will eventually buy a high end 338 Lapua. Most conversations and shooting I hear or read revolve around AI, GAP,DTA....

Maybe I just have not heard or read. It's always the military that buys and uses these legendary rifles. I know they are tuff but How accurate is the Barrett ? Why do so many people buy other such guns? I like the 98B or MRAD.

Never seen one that was very accurate. Barrett told me they usually shoot 1.5moa.

New to Long Range Shooting and just joined this Forum, but have already learned many valuable facts just browsing this the last several weeks. Purchased an MRAD 338 (other calibers not yet available to civilians) and I have finally gathered the necessary items and will be out shooting in the next several weeks. I'll let you know how she does. I'm sure I'll be the weak link, if there are any problems.

I thought the Barrett 98B won ALOT of awards for being an excellent and accurate .338 bolt gun? (am I misinformed?)

I've heard the Barretts are not very accurate. If you want a very very accurate 338, go with a custom like GAP. If you want an accurate 338, combat durable and high end stick, go with the AIAW.
