Best 3-18 FFP under $1500

For use on a Sako S20, 300wm.

Hunting< 600 yards and occasionally steel at 1000+.

Weight not a major concern. Was looking at the sig sierra 6 bdx scope as I have a capable range finder but looks like you're limited to 800 yards without additional equipment.

Vortex Razor HD LHT, got one on the exact same rifle as well as my other 6.5 CM. Great all around hunting and some long range target shooting. Optics and tracking have been perfect for me. Installed with a Near mount with 20 MOA cant.

Which Near mount did you go with? Any pics?

Probably the new burris but if you want a visible ret on the lower end and illumination then the athlon ares etr. It sucks that athlon has the best reticle in the biz. I've got one on my hunting rig and it's quite good. Realize that with ffp there are trade-offs in the low mag range.

I’d go with a new Burris XTRIII before a vortex. However if your hunting as mentioned than illuminated reticle would be a good idea which leaves out the current Burris. The XTRII 3-15 is a decent choice as well but not in the $1500 range

Check the px section here when you decide to purchase. Gives you the ability to try an optic without loosing anything should you decide to pursue something else

Which Near mount did you go with? Any pics?

I’ll check the model, I messaged him and he got back to me very fast. I put the 4-22 LHT on my S20 and he verified figment to be as low as possible. Excellent mount.
