Please tell me you're joking. If not, please explain a little more than just "save your money."
That is by far the worse logic for an argument I have read today. Who cares if you don't use it or "pro" shooters, if it helps and you want to buy it, what does it matter if the only conflicting interest is your opinion. I could see if you had some information that deemed it not a good product to use, but just going off your reply you could just say "Save your money, don't brush your teeth all the pro's don't."
Dam I just shot my rifle and the groups opened up. I better go get a Lucas Bore Guide to shrink it back down. Surely my sinclair guide fucked my barrel up somehow. Lol. To each his own. My point is, its unnecessary to spend that kind of hard earned money on something as simple as a bore guide. No matter what guide you use, it aint gonna matter. Your barrel isnt going to notice the difference. Ive never heard or seen a serious shooter say "You have to have a Lucas bore guide, its the only way to clean a barrel correctly." Are corvettes necessary? No. A pinto will get you there as well. With the same results.

I have never seen any serious benchrest shooter ever use a Lucas bore guide. And they have no issues with cleaning rods damaging their match barrels.
How about you show me how your rifle gets cleaner, safer, with your fancy Lucas guide than me with my Sin Claire one? I'll bet you $500 that when both are done being cleaned, you won't be able to tell the fucking difference.
