WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. defense officials say they are worried about an insider attack or other threat from service members involved in securing President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration, prompting the FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event.
    ----------
    ----------
The massive undertaking reflects the extraordinary security concerns that have gripped Washington following the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by pro-Trump rioters. And it underscores fears that some of the very people assigned to protect the city over the next several days could present a threat to the incoming president and other VIPs in attendance.

    ----------

You know what this is starting to remind me of? A group of boys on a camping trip in the woods. The boys start telling ghost stories, spooking each other. Then one kid starts spinning a well crafted tale about some eldritch unearthly stalker in the woods pursuing a group of boys on a camping trip who very eerily resembles their own group. The kid starts saying stuff like "if they had been listening closely, they would be able to hear the thud of the creature's footsteps and the rustle of it's wings as it got closer to them"................. Before you know it, the entire camping party becomes REALLY unnerved and start imagining shit in the woods around them. Every rustle, every bird, every animal moving around becomes a foreshadowing of some horror from beyond just waiting to show it's pale rotting face...

This is what this whole clownshow is starting to devolve into. And by the way, if the "majority" of the people HAD voted Biden/Harris in 'dEmOcRaTiCaLLy', what the hell are they scared of?

  • I mean why even let them stay in the military...

Might as well be a disqualification from service.

Are you or have you ever voted republican? Yes, then you are unable to serve.

I can see mass redpilling going on in the ranks of these NGs as it is happening right now... "Hmmm, the government that we had signed up to protect with our lives doesn't trust us and are treating every one of us like potential airplane hijackers? What are they trying to hide?"...

    Winning move there...

I can see why some would be upset if the election was rigged , it would be an attack on our Republic. Those who are defending the Republic are acting as , "To those who did what was considered wrong, in order to do what they knew was right."

  • Probably another false flag operation being setup. The left takes out Biden and the right gets the blame as usual. This gives them the excuse to purge the right into oblivion and it puts Kamala in her intended position at the same time. Win/win for them.

I have a VERY bad feeling about this. Like, VERY fucking bad... That will basically green light them to move on with full permanent martial law and no limits assaults on any freedoms left. 1st, 2nd, all amendments, will be flushed in no time. And from a historical perspective, all egalitarian minded, cult like social movements have had no problems procuring martyrs from a willing and fanatically motivated pool of true-believers who will do anything for their party, even committing wholesale mass destruction and annihilation of their own assets and populations in order to achieve a certain goal.

How is this any different from the American SF raiding computer server farms in Germany, or rigged ballot machines designed by long dead South American dictators?

Weird that the alleged "most popular president elect in history" requires 25,000 NG troops at his inauguration...

Want to know who else drove himself crazy always thinking people on the inside were always going to kill him?

    Stalin.

If you saw the average Guard member from the surrounding states, you would not be impressed.
1/20 are combat arms and 80% of them have never even deployed.

Mostly support/intel/MP/aviation types. Ya know, DMV in uniform. I can say this, used to be one of them. They are more of a danger to themselves than anyone else.

    WTS HMMWV

Slightly used. Runs great. No title.
I saw your thread earlier and got a chuckle. I was going to post but decided not to, it reminded me of a story.

In 05/06ish time frame we were running convoys in Iraq and got a message to watch out for any solo US HMMWV and use caution as it may be hostile. Haji had managed to steal a fully armed M1114 with radios, satphone fully loaded 240 in the turret, At4's, all the fixins. Was an active duty infantry unit that provided QRF to a local base that let it get stolen. They walked right onto base and drove right out without anyone noticing.

So its not just reservists that do dumb shit. For those that don't know, there is no key on these. Just a toggle switch to start it. Most units have a steering wheel cable lock rigged that is used as your "key" and the uparmoered ones have doors that can be locked. We were still rocking Hillbilly armor while everyone else had the fancy shit. If you were in the turret from your stomach to your knees the only protection you had was the plastic panels on the HMMWV. When we finnally got uparmered LMTV's at the end of the tour after 4 guys had died and 20 more wounded in my company alone in the piece of shit vehicles, it was bittersweet. Didn't lose anyone else to IED's after that.

I really think there was an expectation that the capital incident was going to be much more dramatic and hugely more violent, but in the end 99.99% of the actual Trump supporters didn't bite the bait at all. Most of what has followed doesn't just seem absurd but disjointed. It's as though we're watching a play where a good portion of the cast aren't even showing up on stage and if they do they're just doing their own thing. Meanwhile the other half rather than improvise to what's actually happening on stage strictly follow the script making it even more of a gong show.

you mean the walk in where they broke maybe 2 or 3 windows? Literally Pearl Harbor lol

And everyone forgot the “summer of love” that all the same outraged politicians seems to clamor to endorse.

It’s legit like watching a poorly written and acted telenovela

Was having a similar conversation the other day with a liberal friend(not a leftist). We were talking about what we would do about how divisive the media is and such. I told him I would just be a dictator till the shit was fixed. Or they would assinate, depose or lock me up. Was offered a Project managers job recently, during the negotiation my first rule was no corporate emails or conference calls. ( this was for a job at a large corporation ). I eventually turned the job down. But my point is our government is worse than a corporation.

When you turn into 3rd world banana republic and you need 25.000 soldiers on top of all the police and 3 letter agencies to inaugurate Cameltoe Harris and old demented placeholder in front of a rented crowd, you get to worry about 3rd world problems.

Biden, everyone in the media, and 90% of Republicans used the word "insurrection" after the events of Jan. 6th. This is not accidental.

Anyone got a link to the "We're horny for martial law" thread from about a month ago? That needs to be preserved so that once Biden invokes the Insurrection Act on the 20th or 21st, we can all remember what a bad idea it was to cheerleader such a plan.

If Biden declares martial law, you are saying it would have been elequally bad idea to use martial law to finish the investigation into voter fraud before electors were seated and electoral votes were cast. I don't know, seems like that logic is on pretty shaky ground.

All this hand writing about martial law being the end of the world. Let me go see what mandates my governor has made for me this week.

I said something similar a while ago to my family. After the protesters entered the capital the politicians said these are the acts of people in 3rd world countries. I said that's because you have turned into 3rd world politicians.

It's going to be interesting watching ( if they let us) these d.c. types start eating each other alive, as they become more draconian in their methods of governing. There will always be the fight to be the biggest and the badest, in this club or that club. Eventually, it falls under the weight of its' own corruption.

We've already seen the level of destruction and death that they are willing to deal out to the masses. At least one governor who should congratulate himself as being one of the biggest mass murders in the history of the country. So why should the paranoia that these wonder boys and girls in the District of Communists surprise any of us.....................And it's only just started.

But... but... but the military is totally 'with' the new administration. The Pentagon Generals all said so.

There is no threat here. Just optics. Designed to give an excuse.

But, hey, I bet those 25,000 National Guard members really appreciate the trust that their new masters, er elected leaders, put in them. Wonder how that plays with the Full-Time troops, too? After all, their votes were 'lost' in huge numbers because they can't be trusted to be woke enough.

"Sorry, you servants are not to be trusted. If you had any brains, you would have gone to Harvard like we did. Now go die in Afghanistan like we told you to and shut up."

Mental illness is not confined to 37 genders ;-) Last I checked, paranoia is on the mental illness spectrum in a big way.

I have NEVER seen such nervousness before an inauguration in all my life. This thing is being played out like an Argentina election. If this administration has to vet all of their protectors, then there's something wrong with this administration.

I had more to say but it could be construed as political, so I deleted it.

e FBI to vet all of the 25,000 National Guard troops coming into Washington for the event.
Next step they should clearly mark those vetted with blue ribbon and those not vetted with red ribbon. Also this should be expanded to all branches and units because inner enemy never sleeps...

Tragically, this is pretty much exactly how the witch trials hysteria in America started.
And it only stopped when they started accusing people a bit too high up the food chain of stuff.
