Suppressors Brevis on an SBR?

I am seriously looking at getting the Deltapoint Brevis can for my Sig556 SBR to help keep it a small package gun. The outer diameter doesnt bother me. I like the increased suppression compared to the other, mini cans on the market.

My main question is there any reason that I might have missed as to why I shouldn't get a Brevis?

Any comments from Brevis owners would bw much appreciated.

Re: Brevis on an SBR?

I put some Rounds out Brevis .556 & Mini .556 . I thought they were great sounding & Mini was small . Brevis .556 is really soft in sound .
Also listened to it standing ahead & off to side of the Muzzle when firing with it on . sound is real good & the Diam. increase in the Tube is NOT big looking in-person & when mounted.
Brevis Mini .556 is small & Short when you see it in person & mounted up on the end of the muzzle .

The ONLY drawback I could find . Was that if you planed on an SBR build with the Handguard going past the Muzzle & over the Can @ all . is a No-Go .

Brevis Cans are Not the commercial Diam. standard . The Brevis line of Cans is just a little larger in Diameter than the normal commercial Standard & produced Suppressors . But that is because he has overcome the usual problems of Hydraulics pressure which normally accompany along with increasing Tube Diameter on a Suppressor . Little larger Tube Diameter & that makes for a Nice Suppression with 'Shorter OAL' .

Re: Brevis on an SBR?

I run a Brevis 7.62 can on my LWRC 6.8SPC SBR and it works, althought I don't have a sound meter. Byron at Delta P mentioned to me that the only drawback is that over time the unburnt powder from and SBR may erode the blast baffels. Yu may want to aske him yourself - he's on the Hide at:

The BREVIS 5.56 Compact combined with short barrel 5.56 rifles has been a great combination for working guns.
BREVIS 5.56 compact specs

I have not personally shot it specifically on the SIG556 SBR, just the (similar)552, but it ran well on that platform. I have dealers who set up packages exactly as you describe. The gas selector should be set on the low setting (selector vertical vs. horizontal if I remember correctly).

The short barrel application you describe will not be a negative issue regarding durability.

If you have not had a chance to fire this combination for yourself vs. your other options, I would encourage you to do so. If you PM me, I could direct you to a dealer in your area who could demo the BREVIS 5.56 compact for you.

There is no substitute for firing it for yourself on your platform. The most important thing is to get what works best for you.

To get an idea of the added length for your application, the length of the BREVIS 5.56 compact installed is equivalent of adding another A2 flash hider onto the end of the existing A2 flash hider.

Re: Brevis on an SBR?

Delta P Designs is good to go, met him at SHOT last year and got to shoot with some of his different cans. Already had a 6.5 can on order from him, if I didn't I would have left with one.

Re: Brevis on an SBR?

I appreciate everyone's input. I went ahead and pulled the trigger and grabbed a full size Brevis 556 can. Now I just have to get it to my dealer and start the waiting game. This is going to be a working rifle so it is important to me to keep the rifle small and reduce the noise in enclosed evironments. I think thatthis will fit the bill well for me.
