For those who’ve seen prior posts, this was supposed to be a cheap winter hobby… long story short, someone (@PrecisionWerk) convinced me to try shooting the local matches, now I’m drowning in the shallow end!
So, building a second match gun in a stock this time.

Specs :
Cerakote colors are graphite black, sniper grey, and tequila sunrise
Vudoo 360 22” 1.20 straight sniper grey
ZCO 527 1x reticle
419 scope mount
Manners TCS Max Rimfire
MDT bottom metal
DIY brass ARCA 2” wide by 17” long
DIY mag blockers that attach directly to the rail in 2 sizes
2 trigger guard finger bangers
Steel and aluminum butt plates (need to shorten LOP, so made my own)
Couple of data card adapters
Some weight for mlok and rail just in case
TT Diamond flat

Just picked up the parts from cerakote this afternoon.

I wanted to ask how was the balance point with the TCS Max Arca rail and the extra weight that it orginally comes with? I have the exact same barrel specs and I just ordered my TCS Max from Todd yesterday.

Im just curoius now with you going to the brass arca rail and weight set up which you prefered.

@Pain92
Shot first match in February, so take this reasoning with a grain of salt.
The brass rail is longer, just long enough to leave the bipod on and deployed for stages requiring a transition from prone to chair/blocks and back to prone. It’s also wider and fits the profile of the TCS perfectly, which I think looks better.
In terms of balance (to me), the sweet spot is 3.5-4” from the contact face of mag blocker. I could’ve pushed the mag blocker a touch further towards the mag, but didn’t want to risk contact with the mag extension.
It’s currently at 23 lbs and in the balance sweet spot. My LOP is 12.75” and the rear is a single aluminum butt plate.

All that said, I’m currently running a few more brass rails of various configurations and will have the rifle apart for fitting. I can again check balance point with the factory rail/weight.

I appreciate your response. I do like the wider look of the brass arca. I’ll definitely play with mine when I get it in and all put together. Where did you get the brass arca rail from?

Here is my TCS MAX from Todd. Rem 40X action, 25" 1.2 barrel, ZCO, Steel rail, Carbon but pad assembly & the 2 weights in the rail. 21lb on the nose with a 10 round magazine. Hope this helps you some. Todd is my cousin as well.

@Shootin25 and I have been discussing some things as well. I cost hime some money and now he is costing me some money!!

Awesome Set up! It does thank you bud! Todd was telling me about the Carbon FIber Buttstock option he was running on his set up. You like the weight difference it provides? I picked up a TCS Max at Nationals and was telling Todd that back end was suprisingly heavier than I thought it was going to be. So once I get mine and if I want to lighten the back end up some I may hit you up if that option is available for the public.

Removing 5 oz from the rear is equal to double that or more of additional weight in the front for balance point being achieved. I just keep the 2 small weights in the holes to not have them open. I can remove them and my balance point stays the same.
Very Nice! I'll have to see how mine is once I get it all together

FWIW: I made an ultralight aluminum pad plate for my MPA matrix that uses standard Kick Eez pads and allows for vertical adjustment. That can also be an option. Just fyi.

Those are nice looking man! I’d definitely be interested if you decide to go full swing 🔥👍🏼

Thanks! Not sure it’ll ever be full swing, but definitely willing to make some on a limited basis for those who are interested. Have a few blanks cut.

This one is done besides Cerakote…
Kinda like it raw, but going to leave it up to him….

The beauty is making them specific so they don’t look “universal”…. Can be almost any size, with any hole pattern.
