I got a wild hair to build an “old white man gun” with a twist.

That's a very nice looking shorty rifle. Would be curious to know what bullet you'll be running and drop (in mils) at 1000m once you stretch its legs.

Doubt I’ll stretch it that far with this rifle. I’m going to be shooting the 140 Absolute Hunters and trying to get them to 3200. This is just a meat stick for around here.

I love that build. It looks well executed. The only "old man fudd" thing about that is the bipod and the leupold scope.

Surely a fudd gun has to be blued steel barrel, 30-30 lever or 30-06, 300winmag?

I'm am genuinely curious how the CF barrel will stand up to the AB reflex mount. I mean I'm guessing the barrel doesn't see any gas but inquiring minds want to know. Beautiful set-up BTW!

So I called them and the answer was it depends. The fiberglass hunter is 2 1/4 lbs. The carbon is 28oz.. Depends on how its furnished/painted.

That’s still pretty light for a cool looking stock.

And if I remember correctly, carbon shell was not an option with the McWalnut pattern.

I have 6 AB raptors living on carbon barrels and have zero issues with the reflex. They’re on 6ARC, 22 Creedmoor, 300PRC, 6PRC, 6.5x47and the 7 SAUM
