I see that they have this scope listed on their site, but have not seen it anywhere else. It's the same 6-24x50 Ill. FFP scope, but with the G2 reticle. I just bought the mildot version and love it (as I also love my 4200 Elite 3-12x44 FFP), but have a new project rifle in the works and am toying with the idea of the same scope for that, but with the G2 reticle.

Anybody have the inside scoop?

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

My rep is telling me "...mid April" but who knows. I will say this, with the coating issue being addressed with the HDMR scopes, don't be surprised if that release date is pushed out a bit. DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying that both the HDMR & Elite series of scopes use the same coating application formula (or same coatings for that matter), just that I would expect Bushnell to put this scope through a very thorough Quality Assurance evaluation before it's release.

Other Bushnell dealers may know more than me but that is what my guy told me yesterday.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Thanks for the input, Ceylon.

My finances will push this out a bit, anyway. So, I'm in no real hurry (got to get the rifle paid off, first!). Any idea of what the price will be? If not, I understand.

Thanks again,

John

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I want to say MAP for that scope is going to run about $1,000. I could be wrong but it won't be that far off...

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I have one ordered and I was told it would not be in until the end of May. Also I'm not positive if they are coming with the illuminated reticle.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I bought one through SWFA in Feb. I thought that there were Illum. dots one the reticle.

They picture online shows a battery cover so I hope it's accurate:

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I did get the G2... bought it in Feb and SWFA is saying it should ship the end of this month. I have my fingers crossed.

The Illumination was the real reason I went with the 6-24 vs the 3-21 HDMR.

I could be wrong. But I think G2 dose not come with Illumination

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

The various info currently available regarding Bushnell scopes with the G2 makes it very unclear whether or not illumination is a feature. The only thing I can tell for sure is that the 3-21 DMR does not have it, the others sometimes have pics showing illumination knobs but then do not list it as a feature in the description.
Bushnell needs to work on their web based customer communication, Vortex's site absolutely puts Bushnell's to shame with the amount of detailed info available. They also need to illuminate the (H)DMR line, I would own one today if they had this feature.

G2 reticule bushnells don't have illumination. So...call liberty optics and get the 3-21...

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I was just told 8 weeks from my dealer. I actually saw GAP had them on their website. On all the other scopes they had listed, some were marked "out of stock" and the others were not. Maybe they have a stock of them at this point, or I guess it could just be in preparation for arriving stock?

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I bought the 3-21 G2. FFP No illuminatation. But I dig the 34 tube and the beefiest knobs. Love that scope. I like it better than my 6-24 illuminated.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Does anyone else have any first hand review for this scope that they have just recently recieved? I'm still waiting for mine, I was told it should be here near the end of May... I would like to know what others think about them as far as operation and durability etc...

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Just got the phone call direct from Bushnell. Scope has arrived and will be shipped tomorrow. I should have it in 2-5 days. I will keep you guys posted.

Thanks for posting the update. I'll have my rifle at the end of the week. Time to start saving for the scope.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

I just got word that my scope was delivered to the station today. Its my day off so I'm going to head in and grab it later this afternoon. I will try to get photos and first impressions up later tonight. Keep in mind that this it my first FFP scope I have owned / looked through, and I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Ok so here it is. I don't want this to come off as a full review on this scope becuase I have never done on nor would I know how to properly go about doing it. This is just my initial first thoughts about this thing.

After only fingering this thing for about 5 minutes I think I'm hooked on the FFP. This is the most expensive optic I have ever purchased and after comparing this to my other scopes that I am ashamed to say I own (Millett, BSA, Tasco...) I can see why everyone makes a big deal about spending the extra change on optics. I have never looked through a S&B or Nightforce so I can't comment on how the glass would compare to a higher end scope. I do know that this is now the best optic I own. I can officially confirm that it is not an illuminated reticle but come to think of it the only time I have used illuminated reticle on my other scope was to turn it on to make sure I intsalled the battery the right way. So that doesn't really bother me. Plus I look at it being one less thing to go wrong or end up breaking.

The turrets are crisp and clean. Not the loudest "click" I have heard but enough to know that it moved. The elevation felt better to turn than did the windage. Parrallax and maginfication ring turned firm and smooth. Not too loose or tight.

I wanted to do a quick test of my mil ranging skills so I ranged the neighbors front door across the park from my house at 8.4 mils. The new G2 reticle made this task very easy. (The reticle is not nearly as confusing or "busy" as I thought it would be.) I had the scope set somewhere between 16-20X . I figured the door was 81" tall after pulling out a tape measure and measuring the one in my garage. I plugged the numbers into an app on my phone and it gave me 267 yards. I quick check w/ my Bushnell LRF showed a reading of 270 yards... Not too bad for my first attempt. Again having the FFP paired with the new G2 reticle made this task much more simple than my old scope when I would have to crank it down to 10X everytime I wanted to range something.

The real test will be when I get it out the range. I will be sure to keep you all updated. Here are a few quick photos I snapped.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Thanks for the review, khall540!

I'm in a similar boat as you, not having the budget to support the $3-5k scope of my dreams. My first FFP scope was the Bushnell 4200 Elite and I knew, the first time I "wrung it out", that I would probably never go back to SFP for any serious long range rifles. Just wait until you shoot with it.

Looking forward to any progress/range reports you have with it. Feel free to post them in this thread, if you wish.

Thanks again,

John

I went out to sighted in the new Bushnell today. I am very impressed with it and I love the FFP and the new G2 reticle. Here are a few quick photos I snapped with my cell phone.

Re: Bushnell ET6245FG: Any Word On Release Date?

Might be wrong but I think I see the same problem I have with my elite tactical 3x12.... numbers and hash on knobs do not match up with adjustment line.....

Are you talking about after you loosen the screw on the windage or elevation turret and then re-adjust to zero it? Mine are lining up correctly.
