Hi Everyone,
I typically clean my precision rig (LAR-8 Standard Operator) when groups start to open up (typically 500 or so rounds in the warmer months). Should that change during the winter?
I live in Vermont where our winter average temperature is well below freezing. My rifle sits outside for one to two hours each shooting session. My gun safe is dry (humidity controlled) but I'm still slightly concerned about condensation inside the barrel as the rifle warms.
To alleviate this concern, I've run an oily bore snake from breach to muzzle. Is that adequate or is winter the time to clean like an ocd Dr. Clean? Or, would I be fine to treat my rifle the same as in the warmer months?
