Still testing loads for this rifle. Weird today, I never really there could be SO much difference in loads. First Target was 30.0 grains of 2520, Berger 130VLD. Got the velocity I was looking for but as you can see, it grouped like a shotgun!!! Bolt was stiff opening. Next target is 26.0 grains of Tac, Vel dropped a bit but accuracy got better, all 5 shot groups.

I'm really developing a hunting load now. I have some Scenars and matchkings ready, but I'm trying to get ready for deer/.hogs.

Had decent groups with these 130 VLD's and 120 gr Barnes tipped tripple shocks

Thinking about a Nosler ballistic tip or Accubond.

I know what you mean. I recently started loading for the grendel on an AR platform with a 24" barrel. I can't get anything to work. My best so far is 1.25" at 100 yds but that's with a 100gr. Sierra HP. I can't get any of the heavier bullets to group. 130gr.VLD's and 120gr. Balistic tips come in around 1.5" However, I'm not really sure what to expect from the AR. What do you consider a good group from this type of gun.

Tikka09, check out 6.5 Gendel.com There is some great info on their forum. If you have any kind of decent barrel, you should be able to get much better groups. I have an AR in .223 but I'm no expert , those guys on 6.5grendel.com that's about all they shoot and are the experts. I think you should get groups well under an inch, it may be a gun problem not the load.

I'm going to try some 100 grain Barnes Tipped Trippleshocks and some Hornady SST's or just stick with the Berger load above with the Tac powder. I just want to make sure the 130 grain will kill at 300 yards @ 2277 FPS at the muzzle.

Buzzsaw,

The upper I'm shooting is a 24" tacticle from Model 1 sales. It uses an ER Shaw barrel. I got it just for fun, no hunting with autos here in PA, but would like to use it for longer range shooting. The lower is stock Bushmaster so the trigger needs to be changed out. I'm sure that will help a bit.

Good shooting

The 6BR Predator I had, shot .5 at 200 yds......perhaps less fickle. 95 BTs got 2 deer last year, 80 TTSX would be a great one to hunt deer and hogs as well, as the 90 Swift, in 6BR.

I have a AA Grendel hunter upper which is a 19.5 barrel. I mainly shoot Nosler BT 120. My groups have been under .5 if its shooting anything over.75 somethnig is wrong JMHO
