I think they are woke idiots laughing at things they have no standing to laugh at anyone.

That very well may be the case, but it is a clear sign that our major allies, whatever we might think of them, did not gain respect for the US because Trump was in office, which was the only point I was making. I don't particularly care what they think, or even have much respect for them, but neither of those points matters.
I do think your response is telling, though. They didn't used to laugh, because they could not afford to be disrespectful. It wasn't their place.
I didn't mean it in that way. The telling part is that you (we) assume they have no place to laugh at an American President, because he is an American President. And yet they broke that rule. That was the reaction to Trump, whether they were right or not, and whether it matters or not (it wasn't, it doesn't.)
Ah, that makes more sense. Agree. However, I will posit that the ridicule is a weapon taken straight from Rules For Radicals. It really is the only weapon those Socialists had left to try and use against him (and they definitely were against him).
On second reading, I’m going to disagree a bit. I don’t think the reason they have no place to laugh at an American President is because he’s an American President. They have no place to laugh because they are idiots. And this is not unique. It happened with Reagan to a smaller degree. They pushed the senile-old-man narrative, as did our own liberal press. Deja vu.
