My parents found out i rolled my truck. So they gave me a 2002 mercury mountaineer. It's worth about 9grand... So I figure I would find a 1990's chevy and fix it up for about 4-5g and use the rest to fund my newest rifle build. My gf is all for it since she gets to play with my big sticks

Re: Devoted or just insane?

On a great day, in brand new condition, used in a centerfold photo shoot (& If the centerfold is included).

These are good vehicles but they are plagued with tranny problems if they use the same computer and the same tranny the Explorer. (We owned the 2002 Explorer 4x4).

I liked the suv but when it gave us tranny problems at 60,000 miles we tried to get it fixed and then traded it in on newer vehicle...SmokeRolls

Great way to use you and your parents bad judgment and trust to your advantage. You will soon lose favor with them. Trust me on this.

Re: Devoted or just insane?

dang i was just saying... negative people on this site... relax with the negative comments...

Btw your right 7955 kelly blue book...

Mileage: 72,000
Engine: V8 4.6 Liter
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: AWD

*I'm an idiot, I think I'm clever, but really....I'm not (as evidenced by the fact that I drive a Mountaineer)

Re: Devoted or just insane?

Let me give you the same advise an uncle gave me.

A vehicle is the WORST investment you can have.

It only takes one knucklehead to depreciate the value on your vehicle by THOUSANDS of dollars.

I used to think "American" but after BUYING an American vehicle and 22 trips back to the shop only to be told they were tired of working on it, I will never own another American vehicle - EVER - we build crap compared to the Asian carmakers.

And you're still wrong, I don't care what it says, no way anyone would pay $8k for an 8 year old Mountaineer.

Top 5 cash for clunkers trade ins

#1 - Ford Explorer 4WD (aka Mercury Mountaineer)
Ford F150 Pickup 2WD
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD
Jeep Cherokee 4WD
Ford Explorer 2WD

We actually were just playing on a light note.. If you saw how they treat people when they don't like you....Ohhhh My !!!
I was being factual on the problems that the 2002 Explorers have. I'm glad that you were given a free suv due to wrecking your truck. Sounds like nice parents. Be careful and don't wreck it........Have fun........SmokeRolls
